Why don't I have the option to delete a forum post

Hello,
I recently created a post in the Microsoft Forums. I was informed that the post was in the wrong forum and was recommended to move it. However, firstly I did not have the option to move it. Secondly, when I created a post in the correct forum and tried to delete the old one, I do not have the option to delete. I asked the Microsoft staffer how to do it, and he said there should be a delete option, but there is not. Here is my original post and what I see:
Can you please adjust my profile so that I can delete my own posts and also moved them to other sections if they are in the wrong one?
Thanks,
John

Hi John !
Welcome to the Forums. There is nothing wrong with your profile. I think James misunderstood the whole thing. Since he is a Moderator there he can have both option "Move a Thread" or "Delete a Thread". These options are available to people who have Moderator Status or above in that specific forum.
Although he has pointed you to the right Forum and seems like you got answer to your question at below thread;
Hope, this clarifies the misconception caused to you. Sorry for any inconvenience caused here.
Please let me know if this helps. Hopefully i have answered you correctly.

Hey Hasham,
Thanks for answering my question. So basically unless you are a forum moderator, you do not have the ability to move or delete your own forum posts.
So if I could make a suggestion to that. I think that aspect needs to change because most forums allow you to delete your own posts. I really don't see the harm in being able to do so. If you could send that feedback, that would be great.
Also, if you have the privilege, can you delete that post as I don't want there to be duplicates out there. Here is the link again:
Thanks,
John

HI John !
There is a difference in between deleting a post and deleting a thread. You can delete your post unless it's a question. As you already have delete your post in this thread.
Usually we don't want questions to be deleted here, because someone else can find it helpful.
Note : I am not a Moderator there so it will not be possible for me to delete that thread.
Please let me know if this helps. Hopefully i have answered you correctly.

Hey Hasham,
I think you misunderstood. I was asking if you could delete my thread in which was the basis of my question here. Can you delete this thread for me:
It is in the wrong category, and I already have a thread with the same title in the correct category.
Thanks,

You cannot delete a thread once someone has replied to it.
The Moderator should move it to the "Where Is" forum (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whatforum/threads), since that's what he's doing... telling you where to ask your question.
Thanks!
