Wednesday, August 27, 2008 7:36 AMI just bought a Welland ME-601J E-Sata HDD Dock.
It came with some software to enable a one touch backup function, and it installs fine in Vista, also in XP on one of my other machines, but it refuses to install on the machine I need it on :|
It keeps giving me the following error.
The whole chunk of text in the scrolling text box is as follows.
Error Code: -5009 : 0x8002802b
@Windows XP Service Pack 3 (2600) IE 7.0.6000.16705
Now I've contacted Welland, which is actually www.welland.com.tw (surprise surprise) and they inform me that it's an OS problem and not their software. Which I guess I agree with since it worked on my other XP machine, but their only suggestion was to format/re-install. Surely there must be another way. Re-install is just not an option at this point.
Could this be something to do with Install Shield perhaps? Or is it definitly a windows issue? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated.

i'm not exactly sure if which side is the problem to begin with. :-) There can be so many different cases for a software environment.
We will have to regard that as an exception that either side wasn't aware of.
Are you using Windows XP Service Pack 3?? If yes, you can get more help from here. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=2010&SiteID=17
You will get more help from them as this section of the forum is setup to provide support for Singapore local developers program.
