Windows Mobile 5 - External Wifi connection

  After many days attempting to get my Windows Mobile 5 device to sync with SBS 2003 I have now managed it.

   

  However, I would like to connect the device from an external wifi (home or hotspot) to sync and pick up my email.

   

  Do I need to setup a VPN connection or some thing similar ???

   

  Please help
