Audio file of speech to text

  Is there a way to take audio files I have of short speeches and convert them to a text file? I tried Win 7 speech to text tool and Word 2010 but did not work out as planned. If anyone knows of anything it would be a huge help....will cut down my time listening and typing by about 70%
