moving files

Why doesn't my synctoy ()V2.1) move files on the destination drive when they have been moved on the source drive? I'm using contribute. I suspected it wasn't moving files, and today did a test, It definitely doesn't move them, it just makes new copies of the files - replicating their locations on the source drive onto the destination drive. The old versions are still in their old locations on the destination drive.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
