StickyLong install and Setup problems

In most cases, the Vine setup program completes within a minute or less, and then starts Vine. If you are experiencing troubles installing Vine, start here, and please let us know any other issues you encounter.

Symptom: Vine starts installing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, or the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Client Profile
This is normal behavior. Vine relies on the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for its operation. If this version of the .NET Framework is not installed on your computer, Vine setup will install it first and then continue to install Vine. The .NET Framework setup may require between 5 and 40 minutes, depending on installed software and the speed of your Internet connection.

Symptom: Vine setup starts installing the .NET Framework Client Profile, works on it for 10-20 minutes, reboots, and then nothing happens
When this happens, start Vine setup again. Vine setup will proceed from where it left off.

      1. Go to http://www.vine.net
      2. If not signed in, click Sign in at the top-right corner and enter your Live ID credentials
      3. Click Home, at the top-left corner of the web page
      4. Click Download the software at the end of the text

Symptom: After installing Vine, other users on the computer cannot find or start it
This is normal behavior. Vine is installed separately for each user. Just install Vine again for each user that requires it. Note that each person will have to sign up to the Vine beta program separately at http://www.vine.net.

even after sign in, the download link does not exists on the Home and the download link in the support page links back to Home page. Please fix this or is the vine beta software download not available for people in Houston, TX?

Very eager to try the Vine Beta.

    Thanks

Ashith, the Vine beta is by invitation only at this point. The best way to get an invitation is to register at http://www.vine.net. Invitations are being sent on a first-come basis as we ramp up the service. There are some more details at http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vine/thread/7910ec42-669b-499c-b5cb-8e7536490b5b.

    Thank you for understanding,

I have been able to install Micrrosoft Vine, but when Setup tries to install the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Client Profile it fails. Vine can't work because the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Client Profile won't install.

I have had a lot of trouble installing updates from Microsoft Update. Any suggestions?

Hello.  I have 2 IDs on my machine.

I loaded the Vine successfully and can use it with my secondary ID.

I have requested & recieved several inviations for my primary ID.  and still cannot log into the Vine with my primary ID.

Then I saw this thread.  When I go to http://www.vine.net, I am logged in with my primary ID.  I click "Home" and get the request for invitation screen.  I click "Support" and get the Download the softward link.  When I click on this link I just get taken back to the "Home" screen.  This primary machine is my work machine, I am running Windows 7 RC.

How can I install Vine again for my primary ID?  Any help would be much appreciated.
