When I visited the website I discovered that there is a link at the bottom of the page that says “Dray Design”, and links to my website. I found no less that 34 such websites that are linking to mine in exactly the say way. Here are a couple of examples - GIBAFUSE.COM, ISTAREOG.COM, CONGREWA.COM. Now it seems that all of our secondary webpages rank much higher than our homepage. The webpage is still indexed - but burried very deep and barely visible in search results. I believe that it adheres to all common sense guidelines. But, Live Search doesn't seem to like it at all. What gives? Any help is appreciated.
Tue, 09 Dec 2008 01:05:51 Z2009-01-31T00:43:36Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/webmasterrankingfeedbackanddiscussion/thread/1838743b-349f-480a-acfb-5b85cad6a7efhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/webmasterrankingfeedbackanddiscussion/thread/1838743b-349f-480a-acfb-5b85cad6a7efJeremiah Andrick Microsofthttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Jeremiah%20Andrick%20MicrosoftRanking Frequently Asked Questions
Before posting ... The Live Search ranking algorithm analyzes factors such as web page content, the number and quality of websites that link to your pages, and the relevance of your website’s content to keywords. Site ranks change as we review the factors that make up the ranking. Although you can't directly change your website’s ranking, you can optimize its design and technical implementation to enable appropriate ranking by most search engines.
