Is changing website title causing drop of indexation of my site???

I am changing my website title recently, say 3 months ago and with earlier site title msn has indexed 600++ but now after the site title is changed only 84 pages indexed.

Is above changes causing my page indexation??? Shall i return to my previous site title or can i stay with my current?

Strange case: www.rubinetteriemariani.it

site indexed (partially - 11/350), sitemap ok, all diagnostics ok.. but seems to be penalized because no keys are positioned, also symple keys like "design rubinetterie", or "rubinetterie classiche".

One month ago was good positioned for all keys.

I use no tricks, there are no malware or something like this..

Hi,

My site mamasource.com used to have quite stable search traffic from MSN/Live in the past several months. But since the beginning of May, I've noticed I am having static decline around 30-40%. There is no major change in my site nor am I doing any redirection.

hi sir,

in March 2009, we have created a set of new web pages using descriptive filenames, as part of SEO exercise.
although we use 301 redirect for all old pages to the new pages, the pagescore for new pages are still very low now..

our pages used to have pagescore of 4-5 before, now it's 1 or 0 for the new pages.

Not ranking for branded term (or any other relevant ones)

We are indexed properly. We have a best practice of following the major search engines quality quidelines including MSN/Live. The main term I would expect to show up for is the branded term or dealership name.

I have contacted support and they agreed that I am not ranking for search queries, and let me know that I am not being blocked or restricted.

Sirs:

My site, ridetoeat.com, has been crawled and indexed. If you search for "ride to eat" It shows up number 1 on the other 2 main search engines, but on live.com, it is not there at all. Totally missing.

In the "Webmaster Center", my domain and my home page are rated with only one bar.

I have no idea why I am rated so low. There is no spam, not even 1 ad. And this is very specific, quality, targeted content. It ought to be at the top of the list.

This isn't a business, so please don't tell me to go hire an SEO consultant.

Any practical advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated

Hi

http://www.cheapholidays.com is a UK site, hosted in the UK and providing a service to the UK.

It only appears on the US version of Live Search, not the UK version. This is completely the wrong way round!

I've looked for a way to tell Microsoft the regionality of the site using Webmaster Tools, but to no avail.

Any help would be most appreciated.

EDIT - I just found another thread in the forums containing a post from a USER suggesting I add the following code to my headers:

Website Rankings Dropped on MSN - Was Number 1 !!

Up until a few months ago, our website - http://www.gbdriver.co.uk ranked number one in MSN for our main key word - "Car Accessories"

Today, if I search - I give up looking ... I just cannot find the site anywhere? Although this does vary on a regular basis. At best, I found us on page 4 .

What is frustrating is that above us now in search results for 'car accessories' are , with the exception of a few, mainly less relevant, older and much smaller websites - most of which do not even sell car accessories at all, or online?

We do all web design work ourselves in house. We do not use any bad methods for optimising the site. I have checked MSN webmaster tools and I cannot see any obvious problems there - we have plenty of pages cached in MSN, plenty of pages linking to us, and no blocked pages. We are usually between 3rd or 4th in a certain other search engines results - so I am totally baffled as to why MSN has decided not to be friends with us any more

I have recently added the robots file to tell MSN to read our meta description, as I noted is was using a very poor description from a manually edited directory; although as yet , these changes havent been picked up.

Please, please, please can you offer any assistance?

We would really like to see our site back on MSN again, and would appreciate any information or help you can offer.

I run site yobt.com, it became so interesting for me why it's totally out of any good terms? why even by typing yobt in query - my site does not appear? i don't see any crawl problems, i don't use any strange technics, so it's just so interesting for me what can be the reason. Maybe you can point me somewhere so i could do something to improve rankings? I have a lot of backlinks from big sites in adult, so nothing unusual. Our bilingual web site www.cwazores.com (English and Italian) is has a good ranking in pretty much all search engines but Live Search.
No issues with robots.txt file and meta tags were found. Nonetheless, Live Search ranking appears to be extremely low or non-existent despite the keywords being extremely relevant, especially for the Italian section where competition on keywords is extremely low.

Sadly, it seems to me that Live Search has simply forgotten this web site. I own other web sites and only ran into this issue with www.cwazores.com, which is well more optimizes for search than the others.

Interior Pages in Index But Not Home Page

Hello,

Our site www.1st-class-wedding-invitations.com was ranked #1 for "Wedding Invitations", but now is nowhere to be found.

However, the interior pages are still being ranked.

MSN was displaying the following decription for all our listed pages, basically code for all our indexed and ranked pages.

"DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

    <title>Wedding Invitations - Wedding Announcements - 1st Class Wedding Invitations</title>"



We looked back at the code and there was a "\" before the <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
. This was due to bad code - Sorry.

We fixed this promptly on 1/27 upon noticing it; and submitted an xml site map to MSN verified on 2/3 and now our home page and our p1 "wedding invitations" listing is gone from MSN.


Interestingly enough if you search on MSN UK all the serp listings are correct and it lists our home page when you use the site: parameter.


Thus please restore our rankings for our home page in your index.

Why my page score and domain score is low.

I want to verify if Live search is using Keywords similar keywords approach in ranking algorithm ?

In my case I'm looking for a good Ranking for my portal : Djerba

The problem is that my domain contains jerba (without D) ;-)

Google and yahoo consider these different keywords as similar because they are meaning the same thing.

Dear MSN,

The site is http://www.gemaffair.com and we are an internet jewelry retailer specializing in fine gold and silver gemstone / diamond jewelry.

I have been learning how to promote my own site for several years. I have talked with some of you at various conferences and always take the "high road" as this is a long term investment. I am gaining rank and traffic with other search engines yet not seeing any improvement in 2 year with MSN. MSN is at less than 1% of all SE traffic for us.

According to the tools, nothing is blocked an many, many pages have a page score of 5.

I have read the FAQ's and believe that I am in accordance with all of them including staying white hat and building quality back links.

Do you have suggestions on what I might be able to do in order to obtain more qualified traffic from MSN??

Rethink about SEO

It's been a while since I've had to optimise a website to improve search rankings, and I have the feeling that the ground rules have really changed.

I was hoping someone could help out with some advice on what does and does not work these days.

Do metatags still matter? It seems that most search engines now largely ignore Keywords and Description, but do these still have there place? Is there any harm in having them?

If you want to look at the site I am working on at present, to give more specific feedback that'd be great.

We had numerous pages and many key word phrases ranked on page 1. One day all is fine, next day poof everything is gone. Typing in the search term grandcentraltax.com essentially only thing that appears is home page. Changing algorithms does not explain this no matter what the ranking is all pages should not be gone except for the homepage. When we found that our homepage was gone we resubmitted the homepage and now how have top rankings on that page for numerous keyword phrases but the crawl stopped there.

Have we been reported as spammers and how does this get fixed. We are not spammers. Why won't our entire site be crawled? It appears this is a common occurance and I have been unable to find any answers under FAQ or anywhere else that have been posted.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Last year we had high page ranks with our old site: www.cybercamps.com, and now that we rebranded: www.giantcampus.com, our rank is very low. Lost Indexes and Ranking

I am trying to figure out why our site has lost indexing of many pages as well as our ranking on MSN and LIVE search engines. We were in the top 10 in many different keyword searches and all of our pages were being indexed. Now, almost all indexing is gone and we do not appear even in the top 100 on the keyword searches anymore. Can someone please explain this to me?

homepage and categorie ranking issues

My store has been indexed and ranked for various keywords since 2005. About 2007 MSN stopped ranking for my homepage and categories. My site says its not blocked and all categories pages are well linked. It seems I have a penalty for on those pages only. I've emailed and ask about reinclussion but to no avail. If any advice or help with this issue would be appreciated.

eCommerce Coverage - Why is Live Search Ignoring Product Pages on Large eCommerce Sites?

I asked about this in July 2008, and have received no reply on this forum. I sent emails to various people in the team and received nothing beyond the boilerplate "read the guidelines" (I actually received two slightly differently pasted-together emails from two different correspondents).

I had already done everything in the guidelines which can be done on a large site.

We run a site which has 30,000 products on it, and so has c.90,000 pages, Google indexes an average of 12,000 of these pages every day and every month lands visitors into more than 4,000 different pages based on 7,000 different keywords.

MSN and Live Search between them have figures about 2% of these. Live Search lists 339 pages on the site (up from 140 in July). Googlebot reads this number of new pages every 40 minutes.

Running a search for the name of a product or a phrase specific to a certain product on Google.ie, both our site and most of our competitors will appear, listing the relevant product page(s) for all of us. Try the same thing on Live Search and you get nothing.

Irish eCommerce vendors cannot use Live Product Search. Live Search is ignoring 99% of the product pages on our sites. So our customers in Ireland have no way of finding product information or competitive prices using Live Search. They go to Google.

Most of my site's potential customers (non-technical people, office workers, admins) use Live Search or other Microsoft search tools by default - please give them the results they are looking for.

About three months ago my site was listed number one with the relevant search terms on MSN. Now I can't find it indexed at even when I use the url:www.paceds.com search tool on Live Search. I changed NOTHING on my site and yet it disappeared. I know that I am very amateur at this, however I don't have this problem with any other search engine out there. I find this frustrating mostly because I use Live Search for most of my searches....so if they are missing my website, then what other websites and valueable info are they missing out on. Any help here would be appreciated!!

Live Search Alogorithms need fixing

I do website design and my website draydesign.com ranks # 1 in Google for "web design cobourg". Cobourg is the Ontario town I live and work in, so this search ranking isn't a particularly spectacular achievement.

But compare this to my ranking in live.com search. About a year ago, my website came in at #4 or #5 on Live Search for those terms. A couple of months ago, it dropped to the high 20s. Today it turns up at #88.

So the question is this - does the drop in my ranking reflect an improvement in the Live Search Algorithms?

Whatever changes have occurred in the algorithms have moved the following ahead of my website in the search results:

2 hockey clubs

4 heritage/museums

3 motels

2 inns

3 churches

3 municipal website pages

2 library website pages

4 realty companies

1 wedding photographer

1 landscaping firm

1 antique shop

1 printing company (that does not do website design)

1 interior design firm

1 record company

and (my personal favorites)

1 chimney cleaning business

1 hot tub outlet

1 carpet and duct cleaning business

Also ahead of my website in the rankings were 2 web design companies that used hidden text that included "cobourg", a doorway page that channelled visitors to another website, and web design firms as far away as Tampa, Florida. (I reported one of the hidden text websites to both Live and Google a while back. Google sent me a thank you note and removed the offending website from its results page. Nothing from Live Search.)

Reference to my website showed up in two forum notes and two directories that were listed ahead of my website.

Does someone at Live Search think that these changes over the past year have done their customers a service? Do they think that this sort of change is going to bring more people to Live Search?

There is clearly nothing that I can do to further "optimize" my website for Live Search. Live Search needs to improve. Having hundreds of pages in the Live Search index does little good if the algorithms place irrelevant websites above mine in search results.

Yes, I know, I'm letting off steam. But I've presented rational evidence that something needs fixing. The question is, is anyone at Live Search listening?

I recently made an odd discovery that looks like some form of attack on my website reputation, and I don’t know what to do about it. I’m hoping someone might have some insight into what is going on and what I can do.

A few days ago I discovered that the "Links from an External Page" info in Awstats shows a large number of what I think are bogus websites that are linking to my website draydesign.com. When I visited the website I discovered that there is a link at the bottom of the page that says “Dray Design”, and links to my website. I found no less that 34 such websites that are linking to mine in exactly the say way. Here are a couple of examples - GIBAFUSE.COM, ISTAREOG.COM, CONGREWA.COM. They all have the same pattern, with a bunch of links down the page, with actual text pages behind each of the links.

All of the domains have been registered very recently.

The thing that really disturbs me about this is that they have included a link to my website on each of these websites. This must be intentional, and I expect that it is to damage my business reputation. My understanding is that search engine bots will pick up on this spammy stuff and end up penalizing my website or banning me all together.

Is this an attempt to get my website banned by Live? Will it work? What can I do about it?

Is there any organization I should report this to? Would it be worth trying to find out who is hosting these websites and let them know what is going on?

Domain Score vs. Page Score

I've got a blog at http://www.j2i.net. I've noticed that Live search gives my site a domain score of 4 out of 5. The individual pages on my site each have a score of 1 out of 5 and I am trying to understand the descrepancy. If I perform test in the other two major search engines with typing exact text that appears on my pages my site comes up. But under no search query that I've used has my site ever come up in a Live search. I believe this is because of the low ranking of the individual pages.

Can any one shed some light on this?

We have ranked on the top of Live Search for the keyword "golf bags" for years with our homepage www.golfbagwarehouse.com. Now it seems that all of our secondary webpages rank much higher than our homepage. The webpage is still indexed - but burried very deep and barely visible in search results. I believe that it adheres to all common sense guidelines. But, Live Search doesn't seem to like it at all. What gives? Any help is appreciated.

Lost organic search ranking

On 11/13/08 the organic ranking for www.satsoft.net for the search term 'ocr service' was #1 on page 1. As of 11/17/08 www.satsoft.net is not in the top 10 pages for the same search term. We have consistently ranked well for this search term for years. Nothing on the site has changed - no page updates or additional pages added to the site. What happened?!!
