Can I backup a PC outside my home network?
- I would like to install the WHS software on my mother-in-laws laptop. She will be operating it at her house. I simply want the laptop backed up to my WHS so that she doesn't lose her photos.
Is this possible?

- Hi,
it is not supported and difficult to implement.
The initial backup should always be done in LAN environment, since the most available Internet Connections are not capable of transfering such amount of data (especially with the limited upload bandwidth).
Also a VPN connection would have to be created (some people used Hamachi for this).
Maybe it would be a better idea to have your mother upload the fotos to a shared folder on the server.
With the Add-In Web Folders 4 WHS you can eventually connect to a share more directly and create a batch job which updates the folder contents (assuming the pictures are always stored in the same place.)
