Drives in Caddies

Running WHS2011.
I have a SATA drive in a caddy (the type that allows you to slide a drive in to the front of the PC). It is connected to one of the motherboard based SATA connections. The problem is that it appears in Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management as "Dynamic" and refuses to acknowledge it.
The plan was to use this as a backup drive, with another identical drive, so that they could be hot swapped every so often - once a day, once a week - something like that.
As WHS2011 won't recognise at all, apart from there being a dynamic slot, how do I resolve this issue?
I haven't a clue where to start with this one.
Thanks,

Well, I managed to sort this one out myself.
Find the Dynamic drive and, to preserve the contents, right click on it and select "import as a "Foreign" disk". There are a couple of other alternatives, but they wipe the drive clean - and I didn't want to do that.
Something for others to take home with them.
