I am new to testing Windows Home Server and think I followed the instructions properly, but don't see anything different on my home server console.  How do I know I have the beta installed?

Did somebody step on a duck?

    Hi Al,
Please be sure to read the release documentation.  It has this question answered on page 6.

Here is what the release documentaiton says regarding this question:

How to Check the Windows Home Server Version Number

    ·         Open the Windows Home Server Console

    ·         Click Settings

    ·         Click Resources

Once Power Pack 3 Beta has been installed, the version information will resemble the screen below.  Note:  It will still state “Windows Home Server with Power Pack 2” in the upper window.  Windows Home Server Drive Extender will show as version 6.0.2030.

Hope that is helpful and thanks for testing Power Pack 3 with us!

    Jonas,

I dont think your screenshot made it?

    Al,

All the componets will say 2361 except DE as Jonas stated.

Nothing will change with DE in PP3

Then it didn't work.  You might try running it again.  Look at the documentation for the beta and on page 6 it shows you a pic of what the Console should look like.

Kariya21 is correct.  All the components should read 2361, save the DE, which remains unchanged.  I don't think it can be said enough times; check your .doc file that you downloaded with the beta files.  Good luck.

You can also check on Windows 7 Add/Remove programs for the version number. Should be 6.0.2361.0
