I see that WHS can wake a PC from Hibernation in order to back it up on schedule.  Do I need to configure Wake On Lan for it to do this?

I mean basically a PC is OFF when in Hibernation (as opposed to sleep/standby) isn't it?

    No.

Windows Home Server uses hardware timers and hidden scheduled tasks on client computers to wake them for backup.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

    Thanks for the reply.

Pretty cool how that works.  I didn't even know a PC could boot itself from hibernation.
