AnswerSymantec Endpoint Protection for WHS?

    Hi,

I'm running Symantec Endpoint Protection v11 on my WHS.  It installed fine and seems to be happy.

But......is this actually protecting my WHS properly?  I can't see that it supports WHS specifically, and I'm reading everywhere that the different file structure requires different anti-virus support.

If I can not/should not use this, what should I use?  I keep reading about Avast - is this still the best option?

    Is there any free option?

    Thanks for any help given.......

It's not supported by MS.  Whether Symantec supports it or not, you would have to check with them (my guess is they don't).

The only WHS-specific A/Vs are avast! (which is what I use) and F-Secure.  (Plus the HP MSS comes with a version of McAfee, but I don't know if you can get it otherwise.)

    Is there any free option?

    None that I know of.

    Thanks for any help given.......

    Hello

I looked also for a free option but could not find one.

Avast is installed on mine and works great for the last year. While not free is reasonable. look at the family pack as I did. 10 Lic. for your clients and 1 for the server for about 80.00 a year or less. I bought the 3 year and have all 4 PC's protected.
