I can't connect to the whs via remote desktop eighter but i can reach shared folders on whs with no trouble. What can be the trouble here? Any suggestion Hope there will be a suggestions out there.

I would suggest looking thru the event logs on both the WHS and the Vista client and see if there are any errors in the Home Server log about backups.

I have checked the event view both in Vista and WHS and there's nothing there to tell me what's the problem is. And it's seems that it's only the Vista machine who's have this trouble, my xp - machines have no trouble at all.

What do you mean you can't remotely connect to your WHS? If you are talking about Remote Desktop you have to use the Administrator username and password. With your backup situation, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the connector. Also, check that your firewall or AV is not interfering with the backup traffic.

I mistakenly disconnected one of my drives from the server and that caused the same kind of problems that you are having. I order to correct the problem, I had to reinstall the server software.

I connect to the server remote with administrator username and password, but what i find strange is that i can reach shared folders on the server, i can ping the server, connect from xp machines is no trouble, and  the firewall settings are ok. And in the event view it tells me that the client is connectet. So is this a problem between Windows Vista and Windows Home Server? I might start to believe that when there's no trouble between xp and WHS
