But only the headnode connect to the internet. I want to copy the data, which is stored in other nodes not in the headnode, to my desktop. How should I do. The procedure what I do now, first copy the data to the shared folder of the headnode, then copy the data to my desktop. Is there any straight way to direct copy to data to my desktop?Fri, 21 Aug 2009 07:13:47 Z2009-11-19T19:51:36Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowshpcacademic/thread/fa4fbef2-ee1d-4e75-8c7b-1e09a66d5c2dhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowshpcacademic/thread/fa4fbef2-ee1d-4e75-8c7b-1e09a66d5c2ditopmanhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=itopmanwindows 2008 HPC server and storage and infinibandHi.. I have been looking at setting up a oracle server and database storage using infiniband to give best performance, I have been getting conflicting advice on weather windows supports infinband, what we are looking at is setting up the following:

HP DL380G5 installed with Windows 2008 HPC with dual port volitair adaptor (Oracle 11g running)
HP DL180G6 installed with windows 2008 HPC with dual port volitair adaptor (Oracle database storage)

HP Volitaire Infiniband 24 port switch to connect server and server storage

I have also been told that the infiniband switch can not be connect to a ethernet network, I was looking at using ethernet NIC's in the windows servers so there can be connected to through ethernet.

I am new to both windows 2008 HPC and Infinband so any advise / help on confirming weather this solution will work would be appricated

Regards
Brian

Tue, 03 Nov 2009 20:03:02 Programming Language is Windows written in?Hi, I have had this question for a long time...what programming language is used to code the Windows OS? Is it a C based language? I cannot find the answer to this anywhere, so if you know it would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks
Thu, 08 Jan 2009 18:00:48 HPC vs other solutionsHi everyone!
I'm working at a reasearch project that will build fluid dynamics silmulatior. Since there are a lot of complex computations involved, the target device is a multicore machine/infrastructure. For the beginning we considered using 4 servers with 4 processor ( quad core ). We want to have acces to all CPU unit from the application domain and change the load ballance dinamically from our simulator. It will be very helpful to us if the OS does the management of the infrastructure and the sincronization between machines. Pracically I want a master OS that manages all the machines and has the capability of managing the task load ballancing on CPUs and also has and API to porgram against.
I want to be able, for example, to build a small app using .Net Framework, PLINK and PFX that can acces from the same application domain all CPUS and memory available on all servers.

Is the Windows HPC Server suited for such scenarios? Is there available an OS that allows such an approach. Are there alternatives ( Windows Server 2008 Datacenter used for clustering) ?

Thank you
Victor ParaschivMon, 14 Jul 2008 20:32:56 Z2009-03-26T00:18:54Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowshpcacademic/thread/c45e93f7-217c-407d-a12a-2f0ce5b202cahttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowshpcacademic/thread/c45e93f7-217c-407d-a12a-2f0ce5b202camcinallyhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=mcinallyUsing Windows HPC Server for Academic ContestHello,

I am writing on behalf of an undergraduate chapter of the ACM. A couple of our members would be interested in using Windows HPC Server to compete in the SC08 Cluster Challenge (http://sc08.supercomputing.org/?pg=SC08ClusterChallengeRules.html). Is there anyone on this board who could help us with this?

Tx.
Tue, 20 May 2008 19:00:04 Z2009-05-19T06:24:26Z
