HI, I am new to HPC and need some direction and help on how this would work.

I have been tasked at setting up a server (HP380G5) which we need oracle running, with its database and Logs located on a Storage server (HP180G6) with HP Volitaire Infiniband (24 port switch) linking them up.

I have been getting conflicting reports that this is not possible as infiniband is not compatible to windows, but this site seems to confirm it does work, however will it work in the way we have been tasked to set it up.

If it does help in how to set this up would be very appriciated

Are you just trying to setup a single server connected to a SAN?

Or are you planning on setting up a High Performance Computing (HPC) Head Node (HN) with several Compute Node (CN), then have clients submit jobs to the HN to be distributed amongst the several CN to return the results back to the client?

    Regards,
