Can I Preserve the Database when doing a cluster upgrade from HPC Server 2008 to HPC Server 2008 R2?

We're doing an upgrade of our small HPC cluster (HN/CN, 3 CN), from HPC Server 2008 to HPC Server 2008 R2, and I was wondering if we can save the usage data that's in the database already, or if that gets wiped out.
We will be doing a fresh install of HPC Server 2008 R2 on all nodes.
Can I back up the DB and restore it after the upgrade, or is there a compatibility issue?
Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,
Have you reviewed our documentation for backup & restore procedures at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee247401(WS.10).aspx?
