When viewing sites on Mobile 6.5 through IE I still get the old sites like old windows mobile sites. Even going to like bing.com it comes up with bing mobile. Please correct me if I am wrong but wasn't putting IE 6 on mobile phones supposed to be to get rid of this interface. I am assuming that they bring up this mobile version because the http user angent string is telling the web server that it is mobile. Is there a way to change this behavior? Or are we stuck on mobile webistes until the sites update themselves to distinguish and identify mobile 6.5?

Oh yes, and under IE tools and Settings, there is an option to browser websites as mobile or desktop. I have desktop set. I still get sites in old mobile format.

You found the option I was going to tell you about.  There are third party tools that will aid in chaning the user agent for IE Mobile and while the name is IE 6 there are still some things that have not yet been ported over to the mobile version of IE.  So you have options like Opera, Netfront and a few other 3rd party browsers to choose from but it would be nice for the default broswer to work without the need for other applications.
