Change of languaje in cell Samsung i900 Player addict
- It´s possible to change the languaje to English or Spanish in my Samsung i900 cellphone? How to do it? Thanks
Answers
- I did manage to extract the downloadlink: This is the link
On this link: http://www.samsungmobile.nl/support/softwaremanuals/software.do you have to select the device also (SGH-I900).
I also managed to find another link from Samsung itself: http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omnia/sg/sub02_xp.jsp
To find the correct version of your Omnia go here: http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/uk/version.jsp?country=uk&os=xp#
I don't have an Omnia to check it out, but it is worth a try.
Let me know if it all worked out for you.

- The language on your Omnia ca be changed with language packs. By default your phone has three language packs, but you should be able to download some more. You need MLI files for that. I did check out some sites, but could not find them right away. Maybe your local Samsung site has them.

http://www.pocketinfo.nl (dutch) - It is not possible to change the language of a device however there are 3rd party applications that can help such as those found at www.penreader.com

- Update:
Mark and I have been chatting on the phone about this thread. Up until today, I have never seen the ability to change the language on a device but in fact it appears that Mark has found a means of doing it. He found a link for a download for a Dutch language pack (http://www.samsungmobile.nl/support/softwaremanuals/software.do). When I went to the site, it shows NO downloads available yet he can see them. Possibly the reason for me not seeing it is because I am in the US and it is blocking me from seeing it.
That said, it is heartening to see that there may be hope for folks to easily change the language on a device. If more info becomes available, we will update you.

http://www.mobilitysite.com - I too am in the US and cannot see the downloads. I've also escalated to my colleagues in the hopes that they have more insights.

- I can only select Omnia i900 and can't see the download either, but I can read the Dutch :)
The other link is indeed to run the update. I have used this one many times myself.
the extracted link works, but I am not running the XKHJ3 version. I am afraid I won't try it. By the way it is a 120 MB file. The download ipretty big, looks like a new version of the operating system to me.

Then it is probably blocked for IP adresses outside Netherlands or Europe, but can you check the direct downloadlink ?

http://www.pocketinfo.nl (dutch)- hi, I'm trying to change the language of my Omnia due to my perspective buyer's request (no english, he says). I already trying out the links here, but I'm stumped. the UK link, where I supposed to find "the correct version" keeps saying that I have an incorrect version. what's up with that? downloaded the WMDC 6.1 because this computer is running the darn Vista, and the 225MB Omnia firmware upgrade, while at last it also comes back saying that I have an incorrect version!!! argh. what should I do? I didn't do a thing but put mp3s and take pictures with the phone since I bought it late spring last year. is there any link for an older version of the ROM that I can put on the phone? then after that, should I even hope that I can get the newest ROM along with the requested language?please advise. thanks a lot and have a great weekend all.
- Thank you. I will try it
