how to get mobile ie to stay in a small screen?
how to get mobile ie to stay in a small screen?
- I originally had a touch pro, whenever i loaded ie the pages would fit to screen, now with the touch pro 2 ie does not fit the screen even though its set to mobile version. I shouldn't have to scroll to see the page and if i zoom out the page is to small.

- What happens if you change the zoom level? Even though I have not tried that device, I would expect that should make a difference that is satisfactory.

- it either goes to a very small screen it never fills the screen. i have to use opera as that fits correctly but I like IE as the touch screen registers better in gmail
if i select desktop it stays the same. its like IE doesnt register the browser as mobile even though its checked Hmm, I would have expected that changing the zoom level would have made a difference. That deviec is running WM 6.1 correct? Is it not the same IE that was on the Touch Pro?

http://www.mobilitysite.com- that i dont know. i know the tp2 uses 6.1 and I believe the tp used 6.1 also but for some reason the version of ie installed on the tp2 can't register the device as a phone and thinks its a desktop.

If it does, look to see if there is a choice called "other". On my version of IE, that is there and it has a choice to pick that you can browse websites as a Mobile Device OR as a desktop computer.
( I should have mentioned that I was looking at IE with my Verizon Imagio using WM6.5. I was not sure if your device was upgraded to 6.5)

- that is the same as what i linked in the photo link. it is set as mobile but refuses to acknowledge it as a mobile device.
is there a registry setting i can force to fix this? - Is that the "stock ROM" on your device? Who is the carrier?
As I indicated, I do not have that device but do have the Touch Pro with WM6.1. I get a totally different screen that I think gives more usable options. Hopefully a TouchPro2 user can jump in here to offer some thoughts.

http://www.mobilitysite.com - Hi,Windows Mobile 6.5 does not allow the user to store the zoom level or the default browser mode. I am unaware of a registry setting to perform these functions.

http://www.pocketpctalk.com - stock rom - sprint and its 6.1 not 6.5
so your saying a mobile device running 6.5 is useless cause MS doesn't allow it to be used as a mobile device. cool a paper weight stock rom - sprint and its 6.1 not 6.5
I'm not quite sure why you and I are getting different screens since we have the same version of the OS. Clearly the vendor has used a different version of IE and unfortunately there is no way either of us can change it.

Here are two pics showing a Mobile view and a Desktop view using Internet Explorer with WM6.5 (Verizon Imagio). You can choose the default view as can be seen by viewing the second link.

BTW, I am really enjoying the Imagio. I only have one issue (memory leak) but the overall experience far outweighs the issue I am experiencing.

but for some reason the stock rom isn't registering that its in mobile view and there should be some type of reg setting that fixes that
- There may be ComicConBooBoo but I do not know what it is.
Just out of curiosity, try going to the site I pictured in my example above (www.gottabemobile.com) and try it. When you change it from desktop to mobile view, hit refresh on the screen otherwise it might not reflect the change.
