Need Help Mobile 6.5 Reminder on Notification screen
Need Help Mobile 6.5 Reminder on Notification screen
- So I have Windows Mobile 6.5 on an HTC tilt2.
When a calendar event goes off, like say a meeting at 1:00 with a reminder set 15 minutes early, so 12:45 I get the notification sound. There is a little bell apears up at the top which means I have a notification. I press the little bell like symbol. This takes me to the notification screen. There it says with a clock like symbol next to it "Reminder" You have 1 unread event(s). When I press that, nothing happens. Then 2 buttons at the bottom, Close and Dismis All. Those work. Close take me back to the home page. Dismiss all dismisses them. However I really want to see what the heck they are.
If I have text messages there.
I press the text messages it takes me to the text messages. I just want to see what the reminders are. Like yesterday I was outside mowing I came inside and had a reminder, I had to actually go get my laptop turn it on sign in to outlook just to see what it was I forgot. This kind of defeats the purpose of mobile. So anyone have any ideas.- Edited byJeffsrealm Monday, October 26, 2009 6:23 PMput touch but have a tilt.

- Powering the device on and off on a daily basis seems to fix this problem. Basically reboot your phone daily. If you see this happening then reboot. This will clear up the problem. At least it does for me. I have went in to task manager and there is nothing running but for some reason after a while reminders will still remind, however you can not go in and snooze them or anything.
Another sign of wierd problem that rebooting the phone will help. Reminders, if they are set to remind say 15 minutes before a meeting. They will remind you, then you hit dismiss and go to the meeting. The start time the reminder will fire again, 5 minutes into the meeting the reminder will fire again. Reboot the phone to make this problem go away.- Marked As Answer byJeffsrealm Tuesday, October 27, 2009 1:06 PM

- Jeff,
I am having the SAME problem with my ATT Tilt 2 and found this thread to be the only place in the WWW that addresses this problem! ...which is sad.
I get the familliar "bell" icon at the top which tells me I have unread events. With my old Windows Mobile 6.x HTC Fuze, you tap the alarm and it sends you straight to the item which is due. But on this WM 6.5 device, nothing happens when I tap the alarm / notification. How could this pass their testing? ...I don't know.
I looked in the owner's manual and on page 36 of 270, it says that selecting the alarm notification SHOULD send you to the related screen or tab. BUt it doesn't.
Rebooting is a sad solution for somethign so basic.
-Tony17112acst - I agree tony, I agree. I searched high and low for the answer to this question as well even Microsofts main website when you go into Windows mobile and look for common sollutions to common problems, it is all mobile 6.0. Like the released 6.5 with absolutely no help or support built for it.
- I figured I would add this one as well to this thread, I experienced another problem with reminders today. Now they go off and sound on the phone, or vibrate what ever your is set to do, however they will not show up at all in the notification screen or at the top in the notification area. Since there is no way to dismiss them since they do not apear, then they will continue to make noise every 5 minutes until you reboot the phone.
- Thanks for the direction on this Reminder issue. I experienced the same thing for the first time on my Tilt 2 (Day 2 of ownership). I had almost resorted to rebooting, but was interested in seeing if there was a fix for it. I was afraid it was Mobile 6.5's version of the invalid Notifications that I dealt with on my old HTC Wizard. I had to buy a separate product to manage that issue. Was hoping to avoid buying additional software for my new phone for the sole purpose of making it function correctly. I guess a reboot is a much cheaper fix, but still annoying.
