AnswerCannot connect my Touch Pro to Windows 7 Pro

I am trying to sync up my Touch Pro (WM6.1) phone to Windows 7.  Worked fine w/Vista x64.  Mobile adapter driver says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".  I have updated the USB driver for the MB and have completely uninstalled the Mobile device center, mobile adapter driver and all the USB controllers (except the one for the keyboard and mouse) several times.  I have also tried clearing the "Enable Advanced Networking" box as well.  It still will not connect.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So here is the solution for my problem, with no help from Microsoft (who never even asked what kind of hardware I have):

I have a Gigabyte P55 chipset motherboard.  BIOS F3 is no good with my phone (and apparently iPhones too!).  F4 (just released!) fixes the problem.  Hope this helps the next guy.....

    Hello. Definitely a driver problem.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123

I would try some of the suggestions in the kb and the specific ones for code 10. What is the "MB" device driver you refer to?

Does the mobile remote adapter driver have a (!) next to it in device manager? I think you should have "HTC USB Sync" as a device driver to work properly. Try updating the driver from within device manager. Sorry but I don't have my Win7 installed yet. Hope they haven't changed those applets.

Another thing that is recommended by the MVPs here is to delete off any mobile drivers and uninstall WMDC. When you plug in the phone, it should go to Windows Update and download the WMDC and, hopefully, install the HTC driver.

After over 4 hours on the phone with 4 different MS techs, Microsoft has finally confirmed to me that there are several problems with Windows Mobile devices (including mine) and Windows 7.  They stated that there is a new version of WMDC coming out soon and that HTC has been notified of the problem.

Hello. Really? They admitted that? I guess that alot of the recent Win7 problems are with HTC devices. Any idea of what "soon" is? I would think that they would make HTC issue an AKU (ROM update) or driver update rather than reworking WMDC. I guess I'll be waiting to install my upgrade...

I have an HTC Touch2 (AT&T Tilt2) and windows 7 64bit.  I cannot get my device to connect to my windows 7 64bit machine. I get the device cannot start code 10 error.  I am able to connect me device to all windows 7 32bit machines that I have tried so far (I have tried 2).  I have a second win7 64bit laptop that get the code 10 on.  So it seems to be a problem with win7 64bit edition only.  Does anyone have any info on how to fix this?
