Windows Mobile Device Center sync of Hotmail folders in Outlook
I have Outlook sync'd to my Windows Live premium account via the Outlook connector (calendar, email, contacts), However, I can't seem to sync these folders to my Smartphone via the Mobile Device Center. It's defaulting to the standard email, calendar, and contact folders within Outlook for syncronization. How can I get the device sync'd? Prior to my Vista upgrade, Activesync seemed to do this fine with the prior Outlook Connector. Thanks!

© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. I assume your windows Live account is being synchronized with Windows Mail, Windows Calendar and Windows Contacts. Those will not sync with your device.Fri, 07 Dec 2007 06:22:49 Z2007-12-07T06:22:49Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#f155a7c2-e157-4d4f-8770-0dc6aa2aadefhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#f155a7c2-e157-4d4f-8770-0dc6aa2aadefkbogshttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=kbogsWindows Mobile Device Center sync of Hotmail folders in OutlookActually, no. I'm not synchronizing with Windows Mail/Calendar/Contacts but with Outlook. Within Outlook there is the standard default set of folders and then the Hotmail folders. I suspect that Mobile Device Center is trying to sync with the default folders and not the Hotmail ones? I've selected to have all sync with Mobile Device Center. It syncs without error, but nothing ends up on my phone.

Wed, 12 Dec 2007 02:13:50 Z2007-12-12T02:13:50Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#dd1c4586-f947-432b-bb0e-b61f3d85280dhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#dd1c4586-f947-432b-bb0e-b61f3d85280dLinley Meslierhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Linley%20MeslierWindows Mobile Device Center sync of Hotmail folders in OutlookYou are right. So, you might as well buy a different phone that works today.

Wed, 03 Dec 2008 01:10:19 Z2008-12-03T01:10:19Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#4c298e1c-0b41-4d97-ad27-b145edb13ecchttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/0fe7d3e1-a6ec-4935-82a0-583312037d59#4c298e1c-0b41-4d97-ad27-b145edb13eccMarcus Widerberghttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Marcus%20WiderbergWindows Mobile Device Center sync of Hotmail folders in OutlookThis is truly horrible. This is patheticly bad and destroys my Windows Mobile experience.

I don't think that this happens because there are N groups involved within Microsoft. I think it happens because Microsoft employees have and use Exchange. For anyone at MSFT that reads this, imagine if you couldn't get your Exchange calendar to Windows Mobile. Doesn't feel good does it? That is *exactly* how your Hotmail customers feel. We are stuck.
TedHowardThu, 02 Jul 2009 19:22:07 Z2009-07-02T19:22:07Z
