I have upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit.  Previously I had Vista 64 bit.  I used to be able to synce my smartphone (Palm Treo800W) with Outlook.  But a while ago, it quit syncing.  In researching this, I found several posts in various sites saying that Mobile Device Center will not sync Outlook with a 64 bit system.  Although I cannot figure out why it did before.  I had hoped that Windows 7 would fix this problem.  I do connect via USB.  After I upgraded, I re-installed Mobile Device Center.  It will sync fine now, but in the contact sync settings, I cannot check the outlook calender and constacts box.  They are there, but will not allow me to check them, so I can sync those items.  Any thoughts or ideas ?

In the Control Panel, open Programs > Programs and features. Select WMDC and click Repair. Connect your device and you should be able to check Calendar and Contacts.

Sorry about the delay in responding.  I tried that, but it did not work.  I also tried re-installing outlook (Microsoft Office).  Re-installing WMDC.  But still unable to check the boxes to sync calendar and contacts.

Open a command prompt on your computer and type "FixMapi" and press Enter. Connect the device again to sync.

Still unable to check those boxes.  Also when I sync my phone, a pop up box to enter my product key for Micorosoft Office Home and Student 2007 pops up.  I do not have this, I have Microsoft Office Standard 2007 installed.  I did try entering the product key for my version, but it says it is not the right key.  Possibly related ?  In looking at my installed programs, I see that I had Microsoft Office Home and Student installed.  I removed it.  SO only Office Standard is there now.

Dude, you have no clue what's going on with WMDC and Outlook.  What these people are trying to find out is why they can sync with their mobile favorites and files thru WMDC, but always get errors when trying to sync with any of the Outlook related items (Contacts, mail, notes, calender, tasks).  I haven't figured out what the real problem is, but I can tell you that it probably stems somewhere around not being able to access the .pst Outlook file which contains the data which they are trying to sync with.

I repeat, this is not a problem with WMDC syncing with the device...It is strictly a problem with syncing with Outlook.

Thanks and if you can solve the defined problem, please let us know.
