Active Sync Support code 85020006 with HTC Touch Pro 2
I'm trying to Sync with Microsoft Exchange server
My Phone is a HTC Touch Pro 2 and I'm running Active Sync 4.5 on Windows XP Pro. I'm Running Small Business Server 2003 with Service pack 2.
I've tried Syncing through different workstations to the server using my USP connection but they come up with the same error.
If I sync directly to the workstation using USB connection there is no problem and can sync everything, ie contacts, task, calendar exchange etc.
I have not a yet even tried syncing with my Wi-Fi of the internet as feel I must first get a direct sync working.
I've read in previous forums that I should try:Open Active sync on your computer and click File > Connection settings.
In the box labeled "this computer connects to:", select "Internet".
This does not work?
Any other ideas?
Thanx
Colwin

was working fire last week - now nothing - weird - Hi Dave
Any luck since
I'm thinking its some setting on my exchange side as have tried everything from the phone side? - Hi Colwin,
Are you able to access the internet on your device when connected to your PC?
Linley.
Pocket PC Mauritius http://PocketpcMauritius.blogspot.com/ http://PPCMUDownloads.blogspot.com/ - Hey Linley,
Yip, I can brows the internet using WIFI, when disabled on 3G and also when connected to workstation through active sync.
Out of interest sake I've been trying to connect to my shares network drives through WIFI and when Synced to my workstation but no luck when trying to register on the domain. I was begining to believe there was a bigger problem behind my inability to connect to my Exchange server but then yesterday I downloaded Resco Explorer and had no problems registering onto my domain and seeing all my computers and files on my network. Would seem the Windows 6.1 file explorer and software is part of the problem?
Any ideas?
Thanx

Pocket PC Mauritius http://PocketpcMauritius.blogspot.com/ http://PPCMUDownloads.blogspot.com/ - Hello again
Nope, I think what is relative here is that they had a connection pervious that stopped working for no reason. I've never even been able to connect.
I sync with WIFI off, comes up with error, then turn wifi on (interesting when connected to USB the Comm Manager swith is greyed out and I have to force it on through settings. but then have no ay to force it off again) comes up with the same error when I re sync with both usb connection and wifi connection on.
As I said above I've never been able to sync with wifi to exchange either.
Thanx though Also whenever it comes up with the attention required and then the error code on Active sync on my PC, It also comes up with a Cannot Connect error on my Touch Pro 2
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings."
When tap Settings it takes me to MTN Internet and My Work Network screen.
Now the MTN Internet connetions are purely for my 3G celular connection and the My Work Network as nothing in it I can change:
Add a new modem connection
Add a new VPN Connection
Set up my proxy server
Now best of my knowlegde I don't need a modem connection as not dialing out, I don't need a VPN connection and Don't use a proxy server.
So whats the point of comming here, am I missing something?Hello
I've just upgraded my HTC Touch Pro 2 windows from 6.1 to 6.5 and the problem is exactly the same.
I'm beginning to thing the issue lies with exchange on the server and not on the cell phone.
Any idea of the parameters I should check on MS exchange?
Small Business Server 2003 with Service pack 2- Hey there--I had the same problem--I was unable to connect ActiveSync at all to my Exchange Server and kept getting the error 85010014. After beating myself silly on the phone side, I moved to the server side. I found out that we had four settings that were preventing access. First, (using SB 2003) in Exchange Server Management, under Global Settings, two boxes were not checked: Enable Outlook Mobile Access and Enable Unsupported Devices.
Next, on the IIS side (programs, administrative tools, internet information systems), there were three issues. First, in the Default Website, the Exchange-OMA permissions for scripting and executables was set to "None"--ActiveSync needs to be able to use and deploy scripts. I changed that setting to Scripts Only. Second, in the OMA permissions, same setting--I changed that to Scripts Only, as well. That's also under Default Website. To get to both of these, right click and click on properties both scripting permissions on are under the general tab for properties...I think...it was late when I did this.
The third issue was also found in both the Exchange-OMA and OMA under Default Website. Again, right click to properties--under the Directory Security tab, click on IP Addresses and Domain Name Restrictions--for whatever reason, we had at some point, denied access to all but two IP Addresses. I set both OMA and Exchange-OMA for Granted Access.
After that, everything synced up fine. I hope this helps! Good Luck!
