Can not load Active sync 4.5 on my Toshiba XP notebook

  OK, lets try this:
  On your PC, click Start - Run and type Fixmapi. Now rerun the setup of activesync.

  I have tried to load the active sync 4.5 disc that came with my touch pro 2. The installation stalls about 1/2 way though the install and says "an error occurred during the installation, please try again". Trying again does not work either. I also tried to download AS4.5 and that won't install either, I get the same error msg.
  As I stated in the title I am using XP OS.
  Any help would be appreciated.
