ActiveSync always forgets my password
ActiveSync always forgets my password
- I seem to be forever typing my password into Activsync so it can get my emails. Is there a bug, or anything I can do to try and find out why? Regards, Scott

- Hi Scott,
Do you use Exchange? Have you tried deleting the email account and re-creating it?
Linley.

- Scott,
What version of exchange are you using? Do you know what type of firewall exchange is being published to? I've had a problem like this before with Exchange 2003 published through ISA server. The issue turned out to be a configuration mismatch on the ISA publishing rule.

- Hi Linley,
Yes we use exchange. I have deleted and recreated the account a few times, but I always end up typing the password. Its pretty irregular however, for example I've not typed it once today, but 4 or 5 times yesterday.
Scott - Scott,
Are you alone experiencing this problem? What device do you have? Did you raise the issue with the server admin? Did you reboot your device after deleting the account?
Linley.
Pocket PC Mauritius http://PocketpcMauritius.blogspot.com/ http://PPCMUDownloads.blogspot.com/ - Hi Linley,
I'm the only person in the office who has a windows mobile smartphone (Sony Xperia X1) all the others have iPhones, which ironically work flawlessly.
I am one of the server admins here as well, so I can't really escalate it within the corperation any more :-(
I have rebooted after creating the accounts, I have actually flashed the firmware three times since I got the phone so its been created / rebooted at least 3 times and I have had the problem for as long as I remember.
Regards,
Scott - See if this article helps:

- Hi Eric,
All the configuration seems to be ok - coupled with the fact that at least 8 iPhones all work ok, I suspect it is my phone that is not working correctly.
Scott - Unfortunately the fact that the iPhones work doesn't mean that everything is setup correctly. It's been resently discovered that the iPhone activesync componont lies to exchange so the misconfiguration may not pose a problem with the iPhones because the iPhone isn't really checking for certain security aspects.
MVP-Mobile Devices - Hi Eric,
I've the same problem of prompting password by activesync.
You talk about ISA server configuration rules (Publishing), have you a template ? Because, after many try of configuration. My windows mobile with ActiveSync(Diamond) keeps asking me my password.
Thanks,
Regard,
Nicolas - Hi Nicolas,
Tom Shinder over at isaserver.org has a great walkthrough on publishing exchange 2007 though isa 2006. Here's the link to the page where he goeas through the ActiveSync rule setup (starts towards the bottom) http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Publishing-Exchange-2007-OWA-Exchange-ActiveSync-RPCHTTP-2006-ISA-Firewall-Part6.html
