WMDC stopped syncing my calendar
- Hello,
My vista PC all of a sudden stopped syncing my calendar which I also sync at work on an XP PC. Can anyone help?
My device is a HP iPAQ 214.
I've tried detect and repair in Outlook and searched the net but cannot seem to find an answer.
Thanks

- Does everything else still sync? Have you made any recent changes?
Detect & Repair is the first thing I would try (and you did that) so if it were my device I might consider removing the partnership and try setting it up again

Please could you make sure that you have not got a filter set on your device.
Click on Menu, Filter, and make sure All Appointments are selected.

- Follow the suggestion below after you make sure that you have a backup of your Calendar. Since you sync with two computers, I think you are on the safe side.
Connect your device to your Vista PC. In WMDC, uncheck Calendar and wait until your new settings are saved. Disconnect and re-connect your device. Re-check Calendar.

Hi,
Do you have any embedded attachments in the calendar items? This can cause problems with synchronization if they are too large.
To troubleshoot this try creating another Calendar folder in Outlook on your Vista PC, move your calendar items there and sync. Then move them back until you find which items are causing the problem.

- So all is gone from your device ... correct? But I am assuming everything is still on your PC ... correct?
If that is the case, I would remove the partnership from both the device and PC. Reboot the PC, soft reset the device and setup a NEW partnership. It should sync fine.
BUT a work of caution. Backup your pst file on your PC just in case there is an issue AND if it does sync correctly, go to www.dotfred.net and download and install PIM BACKUP. Run the program and make a backup of your PIM to guarantee that you have a backup solution.

- Other users have been experiencing problems after updating their Vista PCs with Vista SP2. Do you know if you recently installed that update? If so, one of the Microsoft employees who helps with escalated issues has recommended to reinstall WMDC and/or try a detect and repair.

- Thanks for the reply,
My contacts still sync ok. The WMDC reports last sync successful, however, new calendar items which were added on my XP PC at work using Activesync do not appear on my Vista PC but are still there on my iPAQ!? - I'm not sure why that happens three121. I'll send a note to some others to see if they have a suggestion.

- Hello Laura,
All appointments are selected already.
Regards - Hello Chris,
There are no embedded attachments that I could find, but thaks anyway.
The only things that comes to my mind at present is that recently my XP work computer stopped syncing and our IT support had to resolve a Condeco issue in Outlook for it to work again, do you think that may be relevant and affecting my Vista PC operating on 2007 Outlook?
Regards - Hi,
Tried it, but it did not work unfortunately.
Thanks anyway. .... our IT support had to resolve a Condeco issue in Outlook for it to work again, do you think that may be relevant and affecting my Vista PC operating on 2007 Outlook?
Possibly!

http://www.mobilitysite.com- And just to verify, when you sync with that second PC, the items ALL sync correctly?
Jack Cook

http://www.mobilitysite.com - That's right.
Based on what you have indicated I do not believe there is an issue with your device. Is there a chance you could try syncing on a different "work" PC?

The problem is with my Vista home PC and not my work PC which syncs OK.- So can you try it on a different Vista PC to see if it works?

http://www.WindowsMobile.com/TotalAccess- Hello,
I just entered the thread as I'm looking for a solution for a pretty identical problem: I've been synchronizing with no problem my HP iPAQ 514 to OUtlook 2007 under Vista since Christmas. And suddenly on this Sunday, I lost all contacts and calendar on my iPAQ! Trying to synchronize, Sync Center says "Last sync successful"... But no still no contact, no calendar, no email on the iPAQ! I tried many things, even ended the partnership and created another one, nothing better.
Can you hel? I would really appreciate. Thanks in advance. - So all is gone from your device ... correct? But I am assuming everything is still on your PC ... correct?

Not sure why that happened cnilon. I might backup the pst file on my PC then delete the partnership on the device and PC. Soft reset thte device, reboot the PC then connect and establish a new partnership. If everything is resync'd correctly, consider using PIM BACHUP (www.dotfred.net) as a way to keep a secure backup or consider using the FREE Microsoft MyPhone service (http://sn1-p2.myphone.microsoft.com/mkweb/Start.po?mkt=en-US )

Uninstall WMDC from your PC then reboot. Download WMDC from here and reinstall.
