I recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop, and i downloaded and installed the windows mobile device center, it worked perfectly up to last week Friday.
Right now I connect my phone to the computer and all it does is charge, I have spent more than 24 hours trying to get the Sync working and it is a no go. The phone does not even appear listed or as connected.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the WMDC various times, I have reset my smart phone twice, I have been in contact with the supplier and with Microsoft, but up to now no go

    Can somebody please help me.

Open the registry editor on your computer and go to HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows CE Services/Partners. Do you see any reference to existing partnerships there?

Are there any existing partnerships on your device? Check in Activesync (in Start > Programs), Menu > options.

Open device manager while the device is attached by USB cable.  Find where the device is listed and remove it from Device Manager then disconnect your device.  Soft reset the device and then reboot the PC.  Connect again and the drivers should reload and WMDC should start.

    Hi,
Another thing to try is to enable Advanced Neworking on ytour Treo (Start - Settings - Connections - USB).  Then tro and sync and see if it is more stable.

No i still have not been able to sync, i connected  the phone to another computer with Win7 and it does appear and it synced, so i can rule out hardware problems (cables, conections on the phone, etc.)

Seems like a profile issue. Logon to your computer with another user account and connect your phone. Does it sync? If yes, logon with your initial account.

Under CE services there are two items:
Partners, this has an entry (Default Reg_sz values not set
    Tombstone this has two entries

There are no parnterships under Windows Mobile Device Center
