I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and when I hooked up my phone (Blackjack II) and loaded the Windows Mobile software the only thing that sync's was the email and the calendar (all messed up).  It did not sync the contacts or tasks even though I selected it.  Any ideas, thanks!!

I jUst upgraded to Windows 7, prior I was running VISTA with no sync problems.  Since the upgrade I can not sync my Black Jack 1, to my Outlook 2003.  I have installed and removed the Windows Mobile Device center twice.  The last time I did a disk clean and defrag, with restart to be sure the old load with gone.  I am still getting a Support Code of   0x85010014.  Any suggestions?  My upgrade was horrible, with the end result of reformatting the C-drive, and loading from the WIN 7 disk, if that means anything.

    Hi,

Seems like you are having an  issue with Outlook 2003. I suggest you run Detect & Repair under the Help menu to see if that solves your issue.

I am still getting a Support Code of   0x85010014.

royj, if you are seeing the error 85010014 (a general error) then try uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook. The error in ActiveSync is actually from the Outlook APIs.  You will need to reconfigure Outlook unless you backup your settings.  To uninstall Outlook click on the Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify the installation by adding or removing components. Uncheck Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from Office 2003. Then click on Office 2003 again and re-check the option to install Outlook to add it back to Office 2003. You may need your Office 2003 CD. Then reboot.

If you look at the options under Activesync onn your device, does it show contacts as being selected?  If yes, if you create a "test contact" on your device and sync, will it sync?  If you create a "testcontact2" on your PC and sync, will it sync?

I'm using Outlook 2007.  I reloaded the Windows Mobile software and it won't load now, keeps giving me an error code and also my phone is not recognized when I plug it in to my laptop.  I have been trying to load the 64 bit version of Mobile, is there a difference between the 32 and 64 bit version.  I had no problems on my old laptop with XP.  Yes all selections are selected on the sync menu.  Calendar sync'd but I had to go in reset numerous appointments as it spread them over several days even though they were just one day events.

Got it fixed ran the Detect & Repair under the Help menu for Outlook, and clicked Keep Settings.  Then the WMDC wouldn't even start so, removed, rebooted, reloaded and everything is now good.  Hmmmmmm.

... keeps giving me an error code
    What is the error code?

.. also my phone is not recognized when I plug it in to my laptop.  I
After it is plugged in, if you look in device manager, is there any reference to a device?

..., is there a difference between the 32 and 64 bit version.

Yes there is in only how it addresses the two types of systems.  The program itself is the exact same.

Calendar sync'd but I had to go in reset numerous appointments as it spread them over several days even though they were just one day events.

That is a seperate issue we can look at.  At least it sync'd the appointments.

    Okay..thanks for the help.

I removed the Windows Mobile software (again) and reloaded the software.  The error message I get is when I hook my phone up to the laptop, "The device driver software was not successfully installed",  The laptop does not recognize my phone now.  When I look in the Device Manager it shows an unknown device and states there is a problem with this device.

When I loaded this the first time, it recognized my phone but only hap haphazardly loaded stuff, now it does not recognize my phone at all.

    Thanks

Okay as I stated I reloaded Windows Media and had my device (phone) not connecting.  So I turned my phone on and off and bingo, got it to sync (contacts, calendar, tasks).  But when I plugged it in this morning same thing, unknown device, phone not connected.  Turned phone on and off and bingo it syncs.  Any ideas?  Is it a phone issue?

    Thanks

You need to remove this from Device manager, disconnect, soft reset the device and reboot the PC.  When you connect, it should load the correct drivers.

So I turned my phone on and off and bingo, got it to sync (contacts, calendar, tasks).  But when I plugged it in this morning same thing, unknown device, phone not connected.  Turned phone on and off and bingo it syncs.  Any ideas?  Is it a phone issue?

    So that was good news

I'm not sure if the issue is the phone or PC.  I think I might try removing the device from Device Manager as I indicated above then I would uninstall WMDC.  Soft reset and reboot then connect again without installing WMDC.  In theory, it should recognize the device, load a driver, go out to the net and download and install the correct version of WMDC.

It might be worth the effort to try that.

    Just my thoughts.....

Royj, is it syncing Notes?  Windows XP with ActiveSync synced Notes from my Blackjack 1, but that function is gone for me in Windows 7 with WMDC.
