I have a calendar event that comes up as a sync error, every time I sync my device. The event has been deleted from my calendar and is no longer on my computer of pda, but still shows up as an error

I have installed a Godaddy certificate on my server and it works.

I have installed the valicert_class2_root.cer root certificate on my device (HTC SNAP WINMO 6.5) by placing it on my device and selecting. It. I got the message that the certificate is installed. Looking at my certificates (start/settings/Security/certificates on my device) I have no personal certs, no in between certs. I do see the certificate (valicert) in my basic store. When sync I get error 0x85010017 which suggests that my server adress cannot be found. I can browse websites (with the webbrowser) on my device so I seem to Have an internet connection. I have been trying for days now. Please help somebody.

HTC diamond cannot sync with Microsoft Outlook 2003 on Windows XP

I have recently hard reset my HTC Diamond and would like to resync it to my PC (working on Windows XP).

However, I am connected but not able to sync. Previously I was able to sync to the same PC.

The error message says " synchronization could not complete with error code 80072f17".

Could u guide me step-by-step on sync-ing? What should I key into the server address? My IT support staff gave me the outlook IP (according to him) to key in but it doesn't work.

wanted to see if anyone has played around with this combo? i can't seem to get my contacts to sync through MDC. last time i synced i had Office 2007 so it's has to do with 2010. i do get an error message when i connect the phone saying

"either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client"

however i have been all through the options and can't really figure it out.

hello everybody.

i have a problem with the outlook, i sync it with the PDA device (sony ericsson experiaX1 - WinMobile 6.1) and the content of the notes which in hebrew is now appear like jibrish or somthing ( ºåú; ÷ìéèä ) and its also change the notes on the device to so i dont know what to do, i try some things like reinstall the software or the language on the PC those who in the control panel but nothing is come up.

please somone to help with this problem, will be very much appreciated

ActiveSync Help syncing with PC and Exchange and HTC Imagio

I am new to the Windows Mobile and ActiveSync world, having moved here from Blackberry. My company is doing away with its blackberry server and everyone gets to purchase their own phone now.

I used to have a company BB and a personal BB and I used the same contacts at the office as I did on my personal outlook here at home. I used the BB desktop to manually sync my contacts when I was at the office from my personal BB and then would sync them back at home. I want to do the same with my new HTC Imagio, which runs WinMobile 6.5 and ActiveSync 4.5.

On my phone I set up the exchange account first and it worked like a charm. I now want to plug my Imagio into my PC, load up Active Sync and have it sync with my local Outlook here at home. How can I do this?

When I try I get error messages and it appears the error is caused b/c our webmail sits behind a firewall so my pc will not connect. I have to use a Secure ID keyfod to log on.

I have tried looking at the help for ActiveSync but have not gotten very far. I am probably looking in the wrong places, so I ask my question here and plead for some help from the knowledgeable people who are part of this forum. I am confident there are others who are doing what I describe.

Is there a way to configure dialup connections on Windows Mobile 6.1 for GPRS connections?

WMDC Errors, Now Canot Uninstall WMDC Driver Update

I have a laptop with Vista Home Premium SP2. I have a T-Mobile (HTC) Wing with Windows Mobile 6.0.

My WMDC suddenly stopped working after installing the WMDC Driver Update. When I connect my phone WMDC tries to connect and then gives a red X with the informative message "Error" and no path for more information. My phone reports and error number of 666 but have found no thread talking about that. I have read many threads on many forums. Most suggest removing WMDC, WMDC Driver Update, all sync profiles on PC and phone, remove the device from Device Manager.

I successfully uninstalled WMDC through Programs and Features. I successfully removed all sync profiles from PC and phone. I successfully removed the device and driver from Portable Devices in Device Manager.

I cannot uninstall WMDC Driver Update. When I click Uninstall in Programs and Features, it fills the progress bar once as it "configures", fills a second time as it tries to uninstall, then backs down the fill and ends! No unistallation!

How do I remove WMDC Driver Update so I can try to reinstall the whole mess from scratch?

I see a lot of people have the same problems The Mobil Device Center does not work. I spent hours with a Verizon Technician and could not fix the problem.
My device has dificulties to connect and when it connect it sync for 3 second and then disconect and my data on my device do not update.
As usual it is so difficult to get help from Microsoft.

This annoying error means that the PDA takes time to re-sync, data is potentially lost (so I an wary of making changes to my PDA).

I am using Outlook 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3, Active Sync 4.5.0 (Build 5096), Pocketmirror Professional for WM v2.2 (because ActiveSync only allows one Contacts folder to be syncronised to a PDA), HTC TyTn II (latest version running WM 6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2). I am not connected to a server at any time - just PC to PDA

Problem seems to be common to Outlook 2007 and a variety of PDA's (Dash, HP iPAQ 514, XDA Orbit, Verizon Wireless XV6800) but especially HTC brands. Windows XP and Vista also have the issue. Common demoninator here is Activesync 4.5

Any smart ideas what the issue is and how to resolve it?

Can you please indicate if you have installed Microsoft Voice?

Things that have been tried before and failed:

- Uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality" in Settings - Connections - USB to PC

- turn off advanced usb comms in the settings/comms area

- disable emails syncronisation (duh!)

- Open Outlook and create a new profile

- PDA and Outlook email address not the same

- Having more than one outlook profile

- Bury your WM device and active sync connection

add ActiveSync to your "exclusive" list and keep it running in the background

Windows 7 Professional RTM x64 with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Sync Problems

Hello everyone, I've seen dozens of other people with similar issues, but none of those solutions are working. I am running an RTM Windows 7 Professional x64 copy (from a school license). I also have an Alltel HTC Touch MP6900 with the newest firmware (Running windows mobile 6.1). The first time I plugged in my device after I installed the WMDC off the Alltel CD everything was working fine. I sync'ed the phone and all of the information was transferred. The next day, the phone would not sync with WMDC. Infact, the phone doesn't even show up as plugged in to the device manager, the only thing that shows up is the Alltel HTC USB Sync. Upon further investigation and after about 5 hours of messing around including the following:
Removal of Sync driver from Device Manager with uninstall device driver checked
Reboot of Machine
Removal of both the WMDC software and the update from control panel
Reboot of Machine
Hard reset of phone

After completing the steps above, the phone reconnected. The sync worked for the first day and the next it wouldn't even show up in device manager. Since then, I have discovered that you can toggle device manager to show disconnected devices from the command prompt. I have done so and found that there were two copies of the HTC Touch phone under mobile devices. I have deleted both, removed and reinstalled the software and drivers, but the device STILL is not detected.

The entire point of my post here is the fact that I am adding between 10 and 30 contacts to my phone on a daily basis and saving information that I need at a later date to the phone. I cannot hard reset every single day and I need to be able to sync the phone with Outlook for this reason. I know that many people have had issues if the advanced network option was checked under the USB settings in the connections area of the phone control panel. I have it unchecked and have tried toggling it to no effect.

Furthermore, I have found that certain people reported that issues were fixed with connections by switching which USB port was being used. This has also failed to rectify my issues. In addition, still other users have reported that by toggling certain options within the WMDC connections pane they were able to get their phones to sync this has not resolved the situation either. I have tried downloading and installing the WMDC 6.1 off the Microsoft site as well as using the same version which is provided on the Alltel disc. I have also looked at user forums and information for the Verizon XV6900 device which *should* be identical to the Alltel device especially considering that these companies are now merging and will be sharing networks.

Any help with this issue especially a resolution would be most appreciated.

I have used the mogul since it came out and other mobile windows mobile phones and used the windows live sync with no problem. As of September none or anyone ones windows mobile phone is syncing any contacts if your adding a new contact through your phone or updating a number or anything I just keep getting an message saying (could not sync) I whip out my phones start it from manufacture settings and it will sync everything right away. But if I add a new number or edit any of the contact It won't sync.

PLEASE if anyone know what's going on HELP.

IF NOT.... Can someone PLEASE tell me... What's Microsoft windows mobile live email contact so I can ask them Directly to answer this issue

Is there a way of syncing my contacts without purchasing outlook?

Windows Vista Home edition
Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
Windows Mobile 6 on a HTC Touch
Contacts are stored in Windows Contacts

I've been looking around and it seems that Windows Contacts/mail/calender items can't be synced with windows modile device center. This must be an embarasment for Microsoft but is there a work-around for this problem?

Recurring appointments keep reapearing in outlook after syncing with the mobile device. Even after deleting them on both the pc and the device...
I have read Outlook reminders from the past repeat themself and tried all suggestions. Day Light Saving, using an end date etc. Nothing seems to work. Thanks for your time!

I need some clarification on the use of Calendars in WM6.1 and synching to my Treo 750 device from Outlook 2007. I brought over my Palm Treo 600 Calendar using a 3rd party program for Outlook 2007. I do have the data in a pst file. I thought I had everything working in January 2007. I am using a Treo 750 with the Windows Mobile 6.1 and synching with a Windows Vista 64 bit OS. I had a calendar that continued with my past calendar that I imported. And yet I started to notice that some of my older appointments were not on my Treo, even though they were in Outlook. I always get an error that Outlook cannot load all my appointments (I think - I am not at home right now), and I have tried to fix it and found nothing that worked. The problem is I did not think at the time that I was having a problem. Just two weeks ago when I left for my trip, I synched my phone and THERE ARE NO APPOINTMENTS on my Treo calendar anymore. I know they are on my PC at home. What has happened? This might relate to the question above. I need to learn how to use and manage calendars on my PC (I think I know) and my Treo so that I can keep only the appointments on my Treo that I need. I need someplace where to learn this information. And I need help how to synch and restore my appointments to my Treo 750. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I install WDMC 6.1 for Windows 7

I've tried to install WMDC 6.1 on my Fujitsu-Siemens S7110. At the end of the installation, detects an Unidentified Device, referenced in the Device Manager on Bluetoodh Radios as Unknown Device (This PC doesn't have Bluetooth) and ends the installation without any message. I've checked with the Driver Dectective and drivers are ok.
Those apps are displaied on Programs and Features, but there isn't on Services.

When I connected my HTC Touch P3450, the system tries to install a driver for USB Serial for Elf, but fails.

When I plug the 9502 to my pc it recognises it and installs it but after a while Activesync says it can't connect to the Windows Mobile powered device

I've tried different ports etc - but no luck any suggestions?

I have a tmobile shadow and a Dell studio xps with Vista Ultimate. I installed WMDC (which does not open when the device connects). I have McCaffee security/virus protection. My device does not synch calendar items to pop email accounts when connected via USB (or bluetooth). I get an "error - synchronization did not finish" - no specific code. On the phone and on WMDC - when I open that manally - the device gets connected and starts synch, but nothing happens - no progress bar advancement, etc. my contacts synched ok.

here is what I have done to troubleshoot (usually with rebooting both laptop and phone after each step):
- uninstalled WMDVC, then reinstalled
- installed WMDV again (w/o removal)
- removed partnership
- re-added partnership - contacts synched fine
- checked firewall to make sure all WMDC files are of in both directions (no reboot, as they were)
- removed advanced network settings in usb connection settings on phone
- completely disabled firewall
- followed steps in http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/thread/2089bbf9-ca3b-4a23-b49b-767aec3f0ecf

I still cannot get my calendar items to synch. they are local on my computer, as I have a POP account with comcast. I don't have access to Excahnge (I wish I did). What else can I do?

WM 6.5 agenda does not sync recurring "all day" appointments that were in outlook before WM 6.5 was installed. Also most recurring appointments after installation of wm6.5 do not appear in the phone after being entered in Outlook. Some do get synced, no apparant issue explaining the difference. Issue was not present with WM 6.1.

Phone: HTC Diamond 2, Windows XP (all SP and other stuff installed), Outlook 2007, WM 6.5 installed from Dutch HTC site.

I have two specific issues:

1. My notes generally do not sync properly. It is only for the last one or two that I have changed (on either ppc or pc) - the syncing seems to be confused and believes that both have changed when only the one has. Even after a prompt an overwrite of one or the other, it takes several attempts before the syncing is satisfied and will not show an error.

2. Active sync runs almost constantly. I have the syncing set for "manual prompt". I had it set for a time period first, but it would sync constantly this way as well.

active sync stops loading at 58%

I recently purchased a motorola a3100 and when i put the motosurf disk in and enter the 1st option ActiveSync it goes to about 58% and halts with a message saying a error has occured and it stops. I run windows XP professional and SP3. All other apps work fine. The program runs on other computers

Hello! I recently got a replacement for my HTC Touch MP6900. On my other one, I had upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 about a month or so ago, and did a back-up to make sure I won't lose anything. And today, I got my replacement HTC Touch MP6900 and upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1. After I got it all connected, it created a new folder to synchronize with, that folder having no information, I proceeded to copy all my other files into it. But now, whenever I go into synchronize settings, I can only choose "Files" and the Web Links. I can't synchronize calender, contacts, or any of the other ones. It doesn't give me the ability to select them.

All the help would be much appreciated!

Synchronising with Business Contacts

I have Windows 7 on my laptop and Windows Mobile 6.5 on my brand new Samsung Omni Lite and I can synchronise all the outlook 2007 data sources I want to except Business Contacts which is most important to me. About five years ago I had a rather large PDA with windows on it and I could sync that with business contacts so I'm puzzled as to why I cannot do this simple task with the latest of both operating systems.

Am I missing something or do I need another app because I cannot be the only person in the world who wants to do this amd I'm hoping there really is a way.

Can you help please?

Sync errors after relocating Outlook PST

I was synching successfully using Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 and Outlook 2007 with my Cingular 8525 with the latest firmware.
I am running Windows 7(32bit) Ultimate with the latest updates When I relocated the Outlook PST from it's default location, Outlook worked correctly, but I got an error when trying to sync. The error indicated that either the profile has changed of the PST was read only. Neither is true. When I moved the PST back to it's original location, the sync worked.
Can anyone help with this? I prefer to have the Outlook PST in anouthe partition for backup.

Hi,

I see a lot of people are having trouble with ActiveSync/Device Center and Windows 7. I'm having similar issues, only I'm trying to connect to the WM 6.1 Pro emulator image; not a physical device. After I start up the emulator and use the Device Emulator Manager to "cradle" that emulator, I would expect ActiveSync/WMDC to start up and establish a connection to it automatically, like I've seen on all my other physical/virtual XP/Vista machines. On this exact hardware (Latitude D610 laptop) I was able to establish a connection to the emulator when it was running Windows Vista 32-bit. Since I upgraded it to Windows 7 a couple of weeks ago, I have been unable to do so. Does anyone know of a fix? I have already installed the WMDC update from Microsoft's website.

Mail on device doesn't sync with Outlook

Mail is handled completely separately on my HTC TouchPro and Outlook. I'll receive messages on both, but they have to be deleted separately from the device and Outlook. There is no synchonization once the messages are received. Help ... this is very frustrating.

I would like to copy mp3 files into the sound directory of my windows mobile.
If I select "Browse the contents of your device" I can only browse the content of the storage card.
The phone is just displayed as a "\" and does not let me navigate to any subfolder such as
Application Data\Sounds

Firmware Version is SmartPhone 5.2.

I recently bought an HTC Imagio (Verizon) with WM 6.5 installed. I installed ActiveSync 4.5 and was able to easily sync with Outlook 2003 for about a week. I have XP SP3 installed. A few days ago, whenever ActiveSync launched, I would get the following error:

WCESMgr.exe -Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point _except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

I've see some other posts about this issue, but no resolution. I've uninstalled and re-installed AS 4.5 many times. I've used registry cleaners to get rid of all the files installed. I've used Dependency Walker and found that the msvcrt.dll files I have do not have _except_handler4, just 2 and 3. From what I've read, it seems _except_handler4 is a Vista thing. I don't know why my AS 4.5 would be looking for it. I am at a loss at what to do next.

I have a Moto Q running WM 5. I have Outlook 2007 on my pc. I have installed ActiveSync and I do get a connection and show the syncing process, but my calendar and contacts never sync. Is this due to fact that I cannot update my MotoQ to run a later version of WM and this version 5 will not work with Outlook 2007?

I have a windows mobile 6.1 phone. I am running outlook 2007 on vista ultimate 32bit. My problem is that I had been using an hosted exchange server with 4smartphone.com. Two things have happened.
1. I stopped using 4smartphone.
2. my computer was stolen.

So all my contacts are on my phone. I am trying to sync the phone with my new computer and outlook. If I reset my phone I lose all my contacts. When I run windows mobile sync center it doesn't give me the option to sync anything but files and media. On the device in active sync all the options are greyed out and it keeps trying to sync with the exchange server which is no longer set up.

What do I do? I need the contacts off of my device or I will lose thousands of contacts. Please help.

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and when I hooked up my phone (Blackjack II) and loaded the Windows Mobile software the only thing that sync's was the email and the calendar (all messed up). It did not sync the contacts or tasks even though I selected it. Any ideas, thanks!!

how to backup contact voice tags with HTC Mogul

I'm trying to find a way to backup EVERYTHING on my phone (especially stuff that can get erased during a complete Outlook resync with WMDC which WMDC seems to require for mysterious reasons at different times.) I know how to backup PIM.VOL which seems to include speed dials & ringtones but which does not seem to include contact voice tags. Is there a file I can copy along with PIM.VOL to backup voice tags? dotfred.net PIMBackup software does not do this that I can see. I'm using WM6.1 with an HTC Sprint Mogul.
