I can't open a password protected  excel file that I transferred to my touch pro 2.  When using file explorer I can see the file but when I try and open the file it says "Cannot open password protected Microsoft excel workbooks" . Is there anything that I can do that will allow me to enter the password and open the file?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Ben

Opening password protected excel files was not possible with any of the earlier windows mobile operating systems so I'm not surprised you can't do it with WM6.5.

You might want to check out SoftMaker's Office suite , which is compatible with Microsoft Office Suite (2003 - I'm not sure it can open up Office 2007 files yet).  SoftMaker's Office suite provides much more functionality than the Microsoft mobile office suite and it may allow you to open up password protected files.

    Hey Julie,
Softmaker will open password protected excel files, now I just need to decide if it is worth $100.00 to do so.

Thanks for the advice, you folks do a great job on this forum.

Oh Man! You just missed a great sale on this software ($9.99) - the sale ended on November 12th.  Keep checking back, the software goes on sale from time to time - it's a great suite of applications, but pretty pricey unless you plan to use it a lot on the handheld
