I do not get any Notification on my Today screen that I have a voice message. This is very frustrating.

no icons, no audio alert. i do get missed call alert but if the same caller or any other caller leaves a Voice message, i don't get any notification. btw, the notification option is turned on.

I'm using WM 6.1 on samsung OMNIA II.

    shall appreciate any suggestions. thanks

I'm not sure why that is happening.  Try turning it off, soft reset then turn it on.  Call your cell and see if it works.

If not, maybe it is something with your cell provider ....

I'll send a note to another moderatot that has the Omnia.  maybe he has a thought on what is happening.

    Hi Rajshaheb,

Thank you for visiting the forums. I do have an Omnia, not the Omnia II.

did you check the sound settings for these notification. Start-Settings-sounds. In the dropp down box you can select the action for which you want a specific sound/alert

    Let u sknow

    Hi Johan

Thanks for the reply. The sound alert  is  enabled. The vibration is enabled. flash light for 5 minutes is enabled. I tried with the option 'display message on screen' enabled and disabled - neither works. I use my OMNIA II with win mobile 6.1 on T-mobile. Contacted T-mobile and they said my voice mail settings are ok. I was getting the alerts in my previous phone. when i switched to this phone, it never alerted me.

I don't even get the new voice mail icon, let alone audio alerts.

    It's very frustrating.

    your help is appreciated.

Did you try a soft reset? most likely a button you can press in on the bottom of the phone.

Did you try a hard reset.

This will erase all your programs and information. The contacts, calendar and files can easy be backed-up by using the my-phone service from microsoft.

Now your device is like new when it came out of the box. See if this will do the trick. I know it is drastic.

Just bumping to keep this alive, I also have this problem.

But I'm using an LG Incite w/ WinMo 6.1 on ATT's service.  =(
Reflashing bios to fresh bios didn't resolve for me either.  That's gotta point to something weird on the provider side, right?

I'm using ATT Adam on a Touch Pro.  If I get a voice mail, I get a notification icon at the top of my screen .... I don't think the issue is on ATT

Do you ever get a voice mail notification?

Negative, no notification at the top.  Only a notification that I had a missed call, but I no longer get the additional notification that lets me know if that caller left a voicemail.

     Proposed Answer

I just tested again on my device and I get the icons at the top showing a missed call and that a voice mail message was left, so it definitely works from the AT&T side.

I might consider doing a Hard Reset to bring it back to factory condition.  If there was a setting that was somehow corrupted, that would bring it back.  Of course, a hard reset means a little work of re-installing all your programs but on the lighter side, it also gives an opportunity to dump the "junk" you no longer use.

I had a similar issue to this a few years back. My provider was t-mobile UK. Whenever I altered network settings such as voicemanil notification, number of rings before going to voicemail, the settings would not stay as I wanted, reverting to what always seemed a default.

On speaking to t-mobile, it turned out that they had to remove a bar on the account for me to change MY settings!

I suggest you try and change your phone settings, then go back into them afresh and see if they are as you set them. If not, call your provider and ask why.

While I had this issue, I did still get notifications (WM5).

I also had the lack of notifications when I first got my WM 6.5 pro phone, but soon after customising it, no longer. I had changed some ring tones, that was about all. Totally illogical, but then some software works like that!

Have to say, the 6.5 is a superb system, excellent connectivity and more.
