How to access Internet through wifi enabled router from windows mobile phone.

I have a Samsung Omia Pro 7320 with Windows Mobile 6.0 OS. Tried several setting to access internet from my wifi & 3G enabled set, but failed. I can access my router's default gateway & control panel at http://192.168.1.1 but no pages are opening in internet explorer or any other application. I am using a Nokia SL-141 wifi enabled broadband router connected with my PC. During the las 15days i have read nearly all available forums or support pages available on the net regarding this issue but failed to configure my phone's setting to get it working.

Please provide the configuration setting, so that internet can be accessed from the phone by using wifi-enabled router which is directly connected to the net.

You have step-by-step guide or information regarding the phone configuration only then you should post, otherwise please don't make this place a garbage. I think this will help all the people using Windows Mobile 6 or higher.

HTC TOUCH PRO 2 Sprint and 16g/sdhc card

Hello, I just traded up to the HTC TOUCH PRO 2 from sprint. I inserted my 16g SD HC card that I had in my previous HTC TOUCH PRO ( which worked fine) and it will show up on the TOuch PRO 2 for 2 sec. then dissapears.
Other SD HC cards can read on the Touch pro 2 but not the ones higher than 8 GB. I could read it on my computer ( WIndows Vista) with no problem, but after inserting it in the Touch Pro2, it will no longer read in my computer.

I have lots of files on there. Is there any way to fix it or is this a TOuch PRO 2 problem?

I am in the market for a new phone in March 2010. I really had set my sights on the Treo Pro but it doesn't look like it will become affordable on a GSM carrier anytime soon. I am on T-Mobile and have looked at their Wing or the Dash. I also had looked at the Pantech Matrix Pro and the Pantech Duo on AT&T. The last WM phone I used was an HP iPAQ 6315 back in 2005 I think. Any new devices coming out I should look at? Thanks.

Hi,

I want to develop a Kiosk style application for windows mobile 5 (and 6). One of the first steps is having a form which displays icons of allowed applications. How should I do this? Should this be picture boxes which I set the application to kick off when clicked? How do I display the icon from the allowed exe in the picture box?

Ive done an extensive google search and still have not found a fix for my problem, let me explain:

I am using a HTC Touch Pro and have installed windows mobile remote desktop (Finster869 WM6_RDP). I have activated remote desktop on my PC by going to Start--->Right Click My Computer--->Properties-->Remote Tab---> Checked Allow Remote Assistance Invitations to be sent to this computere.

I have then went into my router (Linksys WRT-54G) and activated the ports by going to Application and gaming--> under application i have remote, start-3389, end-3389, protocol-both, ip address -set to static local IP of my machine, enable-checked.

On the device for Remote Desktop I have under Computer the IP of my router, under user name I have it set to the my account, password is in there of course, I have nothing in the domain field.

When I click connect I get the follow error message: "Connection status-Cannot connect. Likely reasons are: 1.Specified computer name or ip does not exist 2.A network error occurred while establishing the connection."

I would really appreciate any help I can get, I am compeltely at a loss of why this does not work.

I love the look and feel of the HTC Hero (Sprint) but I do not want Android.

1.) Is there any version of Windows Mobile I can purchase separately?
2.) How do I get it to work on the Hero?

Let me be specific, I don't care if the Sprint applications work as I don't use them on my current Pocket PC, all I need is 'My Phone' and 'Windows Live' to work. Is it possible to "rewrite" the OS with Windows??? HTC said they didn't know if it could be done.

I just bought a tmobile dash. I've been able to connect to every network I've encountered so far but have yet been able to really surf. I get though about one or two pages and it stops working and tells me to check the spelling on the page etc. I've tried a few different connection settings (like keeping them set to internet) but have had no luck. any suggestions?

I do not get any Notification on my Today screen that I have a voice message. This is very frustrating.

no icons, no audio alert. i do get missed call alert but if the same caller or any other caller leaves a Voice message, i don't get any notification. btw, the notification option is turned on.

I'm using WM 6.1 on samsung OMNIA II.

Hi,

I have a new Omnia 2 running Windows Mobile 6.5 (Build 21856.5.0.65)

The threaded SMS is shocking. When going to view messages it scrolls from the oldest to the newest before you can read the message. Obviously this is really annoying.

I have tried to turn off the threaded SMS using the registry edit's as for Windows Mobile 6.1 however this does not work.

I can live with the threaded SMS as long as i can change the sort order of the messages or get it to go straight to the newest message and not the oldest message first.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi i recently bought HTC whenever i try to connect with Wifi it showing Weak signal.i am getting only 2 points but i am sitting 10 steps far from router
(In between No walls also....)

I have an HTC Imagio with Windows Mobile 6.5. I have a notification that i have two text messages, but there are none. I can clear the inbox, the outbox, the sent items, drafts and deleted items and I still ahve a notification that I have two text messages. Soft boot does nothing to change this. I also had this problem with my XV 6700 and window mobile 5. Does anyone have a solution that does NOT include a hard boot/reset? I've had the new phone a week and this is already happening.

Over Air Sync of Email, Contacts and Calendar? (HTC HD2 with WM 6.5)

Hi,
Just got my new HTC HD2, my first Windows Mobile phone.
I've been trying to setup the phone so that it syncs in real time the email, contacts and calendar with my hotmail account.
After lots of frustration it doesn't seem to be possible (in any easy way). I can sync the phone via Outlook on my PC but not over the air.
The WM Outlook seems to be missing the plug-in that's available for Outlook desktop edition.

My only solution seems to be to move to GMail which supports Activesync integration i.e. it emulates an Exchange Server.
I've tried setting this up and after some pain it 'seems' to work perfectly i.e. push email, contacts and calendar are all both way sync'd in near real time with GMail.
I also setup a temporary forward from hotmail to gmail to test.

Before I fully commit to moving over to Gmail can anyone suggest an alternative (preferably free!) way of FULL over the air sync with my Hotmail account.
Is there someone who provides a hosted Exchange type service that can proxy my hotmail account, so I can Activesync with that?

It seems strange that gmail provides better integration with WM then hotmail.

HELP, before I move over to the Google side just before MS sort this out.

Ok, growing more and more frustrated. I purchased my Samsung Blackjack from AT&T after reading the specs which said it could actively sync my Outlook info from my computer. Well, it can't! ... at least not completely.

It CAN sync: Contacts, Calendar, E-mail, and Tasks (thankfully) but, when it syncs Notes, they cannot be read (even after I went online to Samsung in order to download any updates). From the other information I've seen online, it looks like others are having to PURCHASE a 3rd-party fix via smartphonenotes but, if that is the only fix, that infuriates me since, again, the specs stated that I could sync my Outlook information onto it. I actually had a different phone in mind but settled on the Blackjack because of this feature. I'm hoping that Windows, Samsung, or AT&T have figured this out and offer a fix. By the way, I can see my notes (the titles) on my Blackjack (when I go to "File Explorer" and then "Notes") but, beyond that, they won't open.

Ok, taking a deep breath and anxiously awaiting any word. (And I simply wanted to take my kids to the park and work on some notes/issues while there... 3 hours later...!!!)

I have a Siemens SX66 (Don’t laugh; I was “the man” four years ago). However, it’s time for a new smartphone because I’m finally having problems with the phone. I guess I dropped it one too many times (it was a beast). Anyway, I have been looking at the new smartphones over the past two weeks and can’t find a phone that meets my needs. The main problem is that the screens on all of the new phones are tiny.

Here is what I MUST have:

Windows Mobile Device (Don’t recommend other OSs)
AT&T compatible (Unlocked SIM card compatible - OK)
Windows Office (Excel, Word, etc).
Touch screen
Big screen
3g capable
3 megapixel or greater Camera
IE Mobile or IE Mobile and Opera browser
Expandable memory storage

Here is what I DON’T need:

Qwerty keyboard (If the phone has one, that’s fine, but I never use it. I’m a touch screen man.).

I have looked at the LG Incite. I hate its touch screen. I have looked at the HTC Fuze. Its screen is too small.

I need some other suggestions that meet my above criteria. Thanks.

Hi, i'm unable to use the Dell BH200 Bluetooth 2.0 EDR Stereo Headset to make or receive calls. The A2DP i.e: stereo funtionality works beautifully. The issue im facing is when i have it configured as handsfree and i make or receive a call im unable to hear what the other person speaks, the head set turns off after about 7 to 10 seconds of making or receiving the call. The best part is during this 7 to 10 seconds if i speak, the other person can hear.

I have tried with different WM phones and smartphones with no luck. The headset works great with Nokia and Sony non WM phones.

This is surely problem with WM software itself, any help is appriciated.

I just got the Imagio from Verizon two days ago. Everything was great on the first day, but now many of the programs (even the camera) lag like crazy and I can't even get the screen to rotate. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? I tried the G callibration fix in the settings menu and although it was able to sense the phone's movements perfectly, it didn't fix it for the rest of the phone's programs.

I just uploaded the windows live writer so I should have the latest version and I am new to WLW so the problem may be with me not knowing what I am doing. When I am writing my post, I can only put insert one picture. I have been able to put in more than one in a previous post but now I can't. What am I doing wrong? I am not using a FTP. Okay so now MY problem is:

As I insert a photo in WLW and add a border effect that has any "drop shadow" effect it appears solid black and doesn't fade. I tried previewing to see if it was just the edit window causing a problem, I even published it to my blog but unfortunately there was still no fade effect. I would just like to know if this can be remedied. I currently blog with blogger and I'm hoping that this can be resolved quickly. If any more details are needed please let me know.

I have a Motorola Q9c. I'll admit I'm a bit of an old fogey and a little on the hard of hearing side. What I'd like to find is some ringtones--meaning repetitive ringing sounds--to assign to different callers. Right now, my choice seems to be the one ringing tone, and a lovely assortment of tunes. And I simply can't hear the 'musical' ones when I'm in a restaurant or other noisy place. My old phones all had a long string of different, repetitive ringing, beeping, buzzing, etc. sounds to chose from.

Does anyone know where I can download a similar group of "noises"? Heck, my boss' iPhone even has the sounds of dogs barking and ducks quacking. I'd love to use those sounds, especially.

USIM in a 2G windows mobile 6 phone.

Hi

I have a 2G windows mobile phone and I want to make it work with a USIM (sim card normally for 3g phones) card. My operator only supports "roaming" for non-3g phones. To get to roaming I will need to manually select the network.

When I put the USIM card into the phone, it turns on and displays that the phone is off. It will not allow me to turn the phone on. To edit the phone network settings, the phone needs to be on.

Any way around this, so I can manually edit the phone network settings despite no phone connection to the network?

I am having the exact same experience as Randomsight discussed in his item 2, regarding the "403 Forbidden" messages with Samsung's BlackJack II wireless phone and AT&T service. I recently upgraded my Samsung BlackJack II phone to Windows Mobile 6.1, primarily to get rid of the annoying "403 Forbidden" messages that I experienced daily and that locked me out of the internet until I rebooted the phone. The WM6.1 upgrade did not solve the problem...I continue to get the "403 Forbidden" messages as before. I have had numerous phone calls with AT&T and Samsung regarding this problem, and have been told to make several changes to my phone settings, and have even been offered to exchange the phone with a refurbished BJII and/or replace the SIM card. After reading everyone else's experience, I now realize that the problem is inherant to the phone and service combination. It will take a coordinated effort between AT&T and Samsung if this problem is to be resolved.

I have a brand new Samsung Omnia, and of course the network here at home is not set up by me. The "admin" ( Step-dad ) is out of town, and has all the info. I can get it from him, but I'd rather not. I'd just like to know if there is a way I can just transfer the encryption settings to my WinMob 6.1 from the connected XPSP3 computer. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I just bought the new Samsung Epix - One of the best smartphones I've ever played with! But I am having a problem with WIFI. I am new to WM6 and/or 6.1 so I may be missing something. I do have an unlimited data plan so I guess I could use AT&T media net for everything - but I'd rather be able to use WIFI if I wanted to. My home wireless network is WEP protected. I set up the phone with everything that I know to be correct, but I am not able to connect to the internet. I get the error message "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later." I have not tried to connect to any other WIFI access points so I don't know if this is an isolated problem with the network or a setting in the phone. Any ideas?

Samsung SGH-i780 Hard Reset Issues

I had several issues with this phone so I decided to a Hard Reset from the setup menu. After reset the the green Windows mobile screen came up and ask to tap screen to setup phone. It then went to a screen labelled "align screen" and this is my problem. After tapping screen to move indicator for alignment it stays at last position and I cannot get out of this screen, it appears to be stuck on this screeen and I cannot finish the setup to get back to the "Today" screen. I also tried the Hard Reset as shown in this forum. After that it still ended up at the same position. My phone is the latest with windows mobile 6.1. Please HELP, this is a new phone and I need get operational again

Samsung Epix Connection Problems (Internet Explorer)

I've had the Epix for a while now, and I really like it. I had a data plan, so I was able Media Net for my Internet needs and such, but I don't have that any more. I've been trying to use the WiFi and I am having some troubles. I am able to connect to my home network, but IE won't work (neither will Instant Messaging), and a pop up says check my settings. But I am able to send and receive email.

I've been able to connect to other wireless networks (at hotels and airports) and they worked fine. I went to a friend's house and tried connecting there, and it didn't work as well, but a laptop and an iPod touch were able to connect fine. The similarities are that both routers were 2WIRE.

I've already tried disabling the proxy setting, as well as taking the password off of my router. Are there any known issues with these routers? Or are there other solutions?
