Sometimes the installer is updated later on, though. To create a new installer with the latest version apparently means more internal testing before it can be staged, while updates go though a testing cycle before being staged to the update server independently of the process for creating and testing a new full install. I will, however, ping the Live Mesh team.
-steve
Microsoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare, Live Mesh, & MS Security Essentials Forums ModeratorSun, 28 Jun 2009 23:46:54 Z2009-06-28T23:46:54Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMesh/thread/0745b29c-826a-4043-a5bb-afd615e50ea3#271d2eed-2395-46ec-8ffd-06dc7d04b133http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMesh/thread/0745b29c-826a-4043-a5bb-afd615e50ea3#271d2eed-2395-46ec-8ffd-06dc7d04b133tdatlhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=tdatlUpdate failed - Mesh 14.4 thinks it's up-to-datei still can't get it the 14.7 update on at least one of my PCs (have 4 total, only checked 2 so far). I've deleted the registry key, rebooted, all the usual stuff.

this is the first version where I've had issues updating.

UPDATE: downloaded the installer & did the 'livemesh.exe /repair' and it worked.

Thu, 02 Jul 2009 02:30:07 Z2009-07-02T02:44:58Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMesh/thread/0745b29c-826a-4043-a5bb-afd615e50ea3#efde0269-c00f-456a-aa6e-598daebbea20http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMesh/thread/0745b29c-826a-4043-a5bb-afd615e50ea3#efde0269-c00f-456a-aa6e-598daebbea20f_marco_fhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=f_marco_fUpdate failed - Mesh 14.4 thinks it's up-to-dateUninstalling and reinstalling solved the problem.
