Error code: 00000040,5
Error code: 00000040,5
- I am getting this error code when trying to connect to a remote "Mesh" enabled computer. The remote computer is behind a firewall. Do I need to open a port, or does this error indicate something else? I read the other posts, but my connection isn't timing out, as I have not yet connected.

- Yep. Like others here, I'm getting the same error:00000040, 5.
Just on the heels of recommending Live Mesh to my entire office, too. It had been working perfectly until now. :( - So any idea so far why this error is generated? Any work arround that we could use?
I think that this error appears if you connect and disconnect several times.
Any one experience this issue like that??- First connect every thing works fine and then you ether disconnect or close the session- try connect once again and the error appears. - If the problem persists for you, please file a bug with logs from the affected machine(s):

Microsoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare & Live Mesh Forum Moderator - I've noticed this relating to multiple connections, or, like someone said, connects and disconnects. I have a 2008 Terminal Server in my mesh and can connect from meshpc1 to meshserver1 but when meshpc2 attempts to connect to the Terminal Server called meshserver1 it gives this same error.
Granted, 2008 server is not officially supported for mesh but it works fine - better than server 2003, but either way it will not allow multiple connections from more than one client. - just started getting this error a couple days ago. Mesh worked perfectly for the last 6 months up until now. Strange thing is, i can still connect from my home computer to my work computer but no longer from my work computer to my home computer. I have disabled all the firewalls and antivirus but no luck... whats the deal?
This error sometimes indicates a problem with the service. If you've rebooted the home computer and the problem persists, please submit a bug report.

Note that you probably won't get a response to the bug report, though. It will be transferred to the internal system to be assigned to the appropriate development group.

Rod - Thanks, Rod. Is this the first time you tried connecting to work via RDP in Mesh? Any possibility that the remote PC is behind a firewall that is preventing access?
