AnswerCampaign Activities - Custom Channel - Distribute Campaign Activity

    I've added a custom channel to Campaign Activity and wanting to override the Distribute Campaign Activity action. Is this possible? Currently pressing the button just alerts "Distribute capability is not available for the selected channel".

    It would be great if I could replicate the same process if channel email was selected, but able to add my own custom tweaks along the way.

    Hi,

    If I remember correctly, I don't think the distribute capability will work with custom channel our of the box. But that's a good suggestion to the CRM Online team.

    Darren's correct.  The "Other" channel under Campaign Activity doesn't work with Distribut Campaign Activity action (both Online and On Premise).

    Please tell more about this "Other" channel?  Is it a Task? Maybe we can come up with a work-around.

    Hi there. I am having what I think is the same problem. One of my campaign activities is to send an email via an external email campaign tool to a CRM marketing list. If I use Channel E-mail then CRM attempts to send the emails itself, which is not what I want. If I use a custom channel like "E-mail via my 3rd-party provider" then the Distribute function doesn't work and so the whole thing kind of comes to a dead end. If you guys have a work around for this it would be great.

    I guess I just need some way moving forward with a campaign activity that has a custom channel - the only thing I can do seems to be to close the campaign activity and if I do that then CRM doesn't write the individual activities against the people in the marketing list - i.e. I no record that I have actually emailed these people.
