    Seems to be the only way for me to do it, but i'd rather somehow export as an image file to be uploaded on imgur instead of using a youtube link....

    Currently this is the only supported way.  We are looking into .GIF exporting and other ways to share.

    If you have Photoshop, it does a pretty good job of video to GIF conversion.  The adaptive pattern dither, with transparency dither on, seems to work the best.

    Yes, the gif export is a must.  There's not much to do with a video file.

    In the meantime, processing through photoshop, does version 7.0 have that video to gif option?

    I personally cannot remember if PS 7.o has a .gif option.  I did work with cliplets (which was fun) then took my video to Cinegif.com to make into an animated .gif.  That was easy.
