Hi,
we have a Problem with OC2007.
Workgroup-Notebook with Office Communicator 2007 installed.
Logon-Screen does not offer "Remember Password".
Even when we set "SavePassword" DWORD in Registry Communicator simply overwrites ist with "0" next time we logon.
Where is the problem? Any suggestions?

Why don't you just join it to the domain, then you have integrated logon (domain user and DNS SRV records configured) into OCS without any passwords to type

We use laptops with UMTS-HSDPA network connections on the road.
The laptops have their own secured local login(with chipcard-Dell). (So no domain logon on purpose)
Every time the network connection has dropped they have to retype their password to logon.
It would be nice if Office Communicator 2007 would just save the password and logs on automaticly whenever the connection is up again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Floris

Not sure if you can get this to work without a domain.
But what happens if you put your password for the server in the User Accounts - Manage Passwords (I am not sure where to look in Windows XP but in vista you can type users in the start search open it and the on the left click manage network passwords
This might work but you really need to specify the same fqdn as the communicator uses for the server

For non domain machines
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
"SavePassword"=dword:00000001REG_DWORD = SavePassword
You can set it You can configure this policy under both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but the policy setting under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE takes precedence
Values.
Not set = User choice (default).
0 = Users do not have the option to save password.
1 = Users have the option to save password.Hope this helps,
