Removing WOC from External Hard Drive

I am unable to delete WOC file from my external hard drive. (I have successfuly removed WOC from my computer's hard drive)
I get an error message: Cannot delete DO_NOT_DELETE.globalCatalog:Access is denied.
I have tried stripping the permission from the folder on the external hard drive, as well as run WOC removal program from the START menu.
I have XP home edition.
Thanks

Hi Geo
Try disconnecting the hard drive and then plug it back in and reformat it to see if that works. Before yo do that use the clean-up tool http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2 to see if that will clean it out and if all that does not work get in touch with support found through here
