Easy way to sync over a network

  Hi,
  
  What's the easiest way to sync files over a network?  I have Googled and found a few samples, but all of them look really overkill.  I simply need to change the medium through which the sync framework operates.  Is this possible to do easily, without having to rewrite half the framework?
