It simply cannot be done in this gaming application. There are several hundred thousand current users of the app (out of a pool of 27 million), that we were going to switch from Google that are potential paid customers for Bing. The servers limit the content type of what they accept to text or html for security reasons, and will not trigger the app as a result.
Is there any way to get another content type back from the server? There was a similar problem with Google v2, but was able to get back text/text by changing API request settings.
For translation of "uno dos tres", this is the response packet:
The headers are:Cache-Control: no-cache
Date: Wed, 26 Oct 2011 03:30:16 GMT
Client-Date: Wed, 26 Oct 2011 03:29:19 GMT
"one two three"
I can only accept text/plain or text/html content types.
Is there any way around this?

Are you using Ajax? Have you tried http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff512421.aspx ?
Let us know how it goes. If you still have problems, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further assistance. Thanks. Takako --Microsoft Translator--

Yes, that is the exact HTTP method used. It used to work in V1. Its a GET on the same URL, encoded the same, and it works perfectly when proxied and a different content-type is substituted. but production will not accept the content-type due to the security issues in the game.
I'll try the email hell next.
