Locked Backup Schedule

    Why is the backup schedule a global setting. I am asking for an option to let each separate computer have it's one scheduled backup-time.

      Hi,

      I would say that one reason it's a global setting, is because WHS doesn't know how long a particular backup for any particular client may take, so the global setting lets the Client computer wake up and negotiate with the server, when it can fit into the schedule.

      The idea of having it overnight, which can be changed, is because in general, the backup process consumes a lot of resources, plus the likelihood is that the client won't be working on any of the files.

        Colin's statements notwithstanding (and I agree with his reasons), if you feel strongly you should make a suggestion on Connect.
