    I'm trying to create a WHS on VMWare, using ESX server. Created the space and all required bits and bobs (200GbHD, 4GB RAM etc). Set VM up with "other operating system" to avoid any conflicts. Loading WHS from a DVD. Process runs through "Transferring files", then gets to 9% of "Expanding files" and simply hangs. Used exactly the same DVD on my laptop using VMware free workstation software and loaded up without a hitch !

    Any ideas what happens at the 9% mark where my install is hanging? It's really really frustrating!!

      Most of the time the problem is the media.  You said same disc, is it the same dvd drive also?  Can you just not mount the iso or expand it to a thumb drive?
