Live Mesh for Mobile: Mobile Phone Support List
As many of you already know, the ability to access your mesh on a mobile phone through a special WAP site (http://m.mesh.com) has been available for a little while now. Some of you have already been discussing your experiences using different mobile phones here on the forums. The purpose of this thread is to list the issues (or, hopefully, lack thereof) with any and all mobile devices people have tested, and we need your help. If you’ve tried Live Mesh on your mobile phone, please report your experiences here.
We will periodically update this initial post with new reports from within the thread, so search the list below first. If your phone isn’t listed, then please go ahead and reply, and let us know how it works.
Thanks for helping us test Live Mesh for Mobile,
The Live Mesh Team

I've installed and managed to run the client on my HTC Touch Diamond although I'm getting the Cannot Validate User message right now.
- Works on HP IPAQ 214 over Wi-Fi
Fergal Breen, Online Manager, IrishDev.com - HTC Hermes, OK.
- HTC Apache OK (WM 6.1)
Businesschild - samsung omnia is ok!
- Live Mesh client works well on HTC S710

I second this! Except for the Storage Card with Less than 10% Free Space. - Works beautifully on my (Sprint) HTC Touch Pro! :D
- The Live Mesh client seems to work well on the ETEN Glofiish X800

- I've got it installed and working on a HTC Touch Pro ( Raphael )
- Yeah I get the same on my HTC Touch Diamond.
- Live Mesh File upload is working on my Moto Q9h!
- HTC Touch Pro: Works but when using the slide out keyboard i cannot see what im typing... it just types blanks, oddly enough as soon as i slide the keyboard back in the text i typed with the keyboard appears and it signs in no probs
- HTC Touch HD seems fine
- My company just went all BlackBerry so I lost my Tilt and now have a Curve.. any chance we'll see a BlackBerry client like the one for Windows Mobile? I loved having my pictures uploaded automatically to my Live Desktop using the client on my Tilt.
- @Muffin Man 13 sorry the quoting function did not appear to work :-(
If the issue sounds like what I think it is... make sure you have Cleartype disabled on landscape.
Schap's brilliant "Advanced Config 3.3" will allow you to easily configure this setting (you can download from here)
Cheers, Glen - Mesh is working on a Samsung Saga also known as a i770. Windows Mobile 6.1
Robert Tankersley - Well i don't know where you guys are getting these Mobile Clients. I had one and it never ever connected or worked on my TILT(don't remember how i got it in the first place) but I deleted it. Now I can't find any link for downloading one. Also Got tired of reading "COMING SOON FOR MOBILE" on the desktop. Anyhow, I'm fast losing interest. What I really find amusing is, the mobile link would never let me sign in from Pocket IE--NEVER. I soft reset. I cleared History. I tried everything. Last night I was playing around with SkyFire and it suddenly occured to me to go to Live Mesh from Skyfire. Yeah, you guessed it. Signed me right in. Fired right up. I keep trying to stop MS bashers, but man it's hard sometimes not to just throw in the towel. I read enough Forums to know that a lot of problems are Operator Failure, but I read and re-read all those Tutorials for this thing and it just shouldn't be this much trouble.
- Sorry if you answered your own question earlier, but just in case- the mobile client should be available when you visit live mesh from your phone, but before you can see it, your Live ID must be granted access to use it, which you can get by visiting:
https://www.mesh.com/Web/Promo.aspx?pcode=Mob_FCFS1
Learn more about it here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/livemesh/
Hope that helps! :)
- I have HTC p3600i in australia - seems to be working ok but keep getting security issue when trying to upload files from phone to mesh desktop / folders.
how do you access storage card on phone ? - htc touch hd, o2 uk: setup failed issue. will continue searching boards for solution.
- I have a HTC Touch Diamond and it works great with the (new) v0.9.3424.9 Live Mesh mobile software!!!
I'm in Norway by the way...
Regards,
-Satheesh- - My HTC Touch Diamond works ok with the Identifier if I connected on wi-fi. It wouldn't work otherwise. Once identified, it will work on gprs.
- No issues with my HTC S730 except that the files on mobile is different to live desktop so i have to manually sort that out but everything is great!
- Palm T|X update:
- Although it was thought to be completely discontinued, the IBM WebSphere environment is now updated to 5.7.2 and available for purchase from PocketGear.
- The 5.7.2 update includes JSR75 support, allowing Palm devices to theoretically upload/download files
- Opera Mini has been updated for the T|X, and the latest version of Opera Mini supports JSR75, however,
- Opera Mini does not have a "signed" version for the T|X, so file uploading still doesn't work. The button now appears, but Opera won't allow the action due to not being signed.
- With the latest updates in both the JVM and Opera Mini, it seems far more stable and less likely to crash my T|X.
- With Palm focusing on the Prē and webOS, I don't really expect any more Blazer updates.
- Still the same deal with Blazer: No upload at all, and I still get random filenames when trying to download via Blazer. Opera is pretty much the best browser now for Live Mesh on PalmOS devices.
i just tried it on my Motorola Krave and was able to access it with the http://m.mesh.com link and it let me on and i could see all my folders but i cant down load big photo files... i got a not enough memory messege.. even though i have a 2 gb mem card.. but then again there is really no real reason for me to try and down load an 8 x 11 300dpi photo to my phone...lol I was only on it for a few minutes and didnt get to check out everything, is there a way to save files from my folder? i didnt see anything.
thanks!
- I have an iPhone 3G and went to m.mesh.com. I could see the correct filenames in the list, however when I download mp3 files, I get the message "This movie could not be played". I am able to view pdf and jpg files well.
- Works on Samsung Omnia i900 DXHK3.
Nilantha - I tried it on the Blacberry Storm (9530) using default browser, and it seemed to work well.
It would only open .txt files from mesh.com
My .xls files it gave me the option to save them, or it gave "Unsupported media type: application/excel" error, and wouldn't display. Once saved I could open in Excel.
.doc files it would only allow me to save, then I could open.
.pdf files couldn't open, but not sure if app is installed. - Do you support for BlackBerry 8700 ?

If it is running Windows Mobile 6.x, it should work. I am not familiar with the Blackberry line to know for sure what OS it is running, nor can I confirm if it works fine.

Nothing has been announced for any additional operating systems or devices. Since the vision of Live Mesh is to allow sharing of data between all devices and the cloud, it would not be out of the question. At this point, though, I believe you are limited to manually uploading/downloading data via the phone's browser.

Microsoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare & Live Mesh Forum Moderator- I have had lot's of success with the Samsung Omnia, but over the weekend I got the Time Sync with Server issue. I was pointed to
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/LiveMeshMobile/thread/febc6709-1575-441d-a327-8a9ef087aa7e, to install the client again. My question, is this really the case? Is my client old and a new beta was released.?
If I install again, will the mobile client pickup up the folder on my phone I am already syncing? This was not the case last time I had to install. - Yes, it is really the case. The problem had to do with the way that the update was deployed, nothing specific to your device. Your client updated, but it is broken - a reinstall is needed to set things straight.
I don't know the specific cause, but as long as you are not running WM6.5, the solution in the thread you pointed to is good. You will not lose the foldes, as I recall they are recognized already, but I'd suggest reviewing the settings after you reinstall.

Microsoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare & Live Mesh Forum Moderator - So I installed again, the product should know the phone was already a Mesh member.
I am watching "Adding mobile phone to LIve Mesh..."
THen it FAILS. Error says "Setup Failed This mobile phone was not added to your mesh."
What do try next? Is there a log to send? So I installed again, the product should know the phone was already a Mesh member.

Try removing Live Mesh from the phone via the Settings/Programs dialog, then reset the device (soft reset) and try the install again.
If that still fails, this post explains how to submit the log and file a bug report.

Do we know if there are even plans to develop a Symbian client in the forseable future or are the current platforms (MS/RIM/Apple) what most of the focus is going to be put on for now?- Is there going to be an app for any of the blackberries? i would really love to access mesh from the there. Also any solution for the error on the 8350i blackberry?
The Matrix Has You - Hi there!
When will it be working on a Symbian s60 v5 cellphone? Example the samsung omnia HD (i8910)
Thanks already - Hm ... supported phone ? Since m.mesh.com is a web application the question is: which supported browsers?
PIE works ;-)
Programming is a kind of art but not all programmers are artists. - Nokia E61 all good.

Have found that there exists a mobile application (.NET Compact Framework?) which acts as a client application. But has only few features and I prefer m.mesh.com at the moment ;-) (hope the content-disposition problem will be solved asap)
MDA Compact III: OK- Modifiéhfrmobile jeudi 2 juillet 2009 17:40added phone
HI all,
with HTC Touch Pro 2, I have mobmoe.exe crash...
Error message? Maybe NullReferenceException ? Works on MDA Compact III but is offers only few features and so I still prefer m.mesh.com using PIE .
Programming is a kind of art but not all programmers are artists.- I was having that problem today as well with my HTC Touch Pro, but after I uninstalled it from the storage card and reinstalled it on the device itself, it worked fine. Hope that helps someone.

Unfortunately, the best that I can do is advise you to submit your logs with a bug report. I see that you saw the other thread. It is possible that there is a conflicting program running on that device or some service dependency that is broken.
And
but slightly lower level of performance as a usefulPower consumption if it will not be preferred if the market is a program...It seems to work well with the 8330 Curve using Opera browser.
- works great on xv6800. device its self still needs more memory 38% out of 64mb from freash boot. wm6.1 had about 48%
- All seems to work good with the Palm Treo Pro (850)
Only issue so far is:
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/LiveMeshMobile/thread/3c801c06-ee38-4b7f-955e-ef0b03e38a9f
but I don't think it has to do with the treo specifically, because others have also reported the problem.
p.s. I love Live Mesh! :D
