However, how can I create custom activity feed rules, e.g. a rule that automatically posts to the wall when a account is re-assigned. I believe this is possible by using workflows, but I'm looking for a solution similar to the rules delivered in the solution package.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the Activity Feed rules that come pre-packaged... You can only active/inactivate the existing ones. I can't remember if there is one for "Account Assigned." If there isn't one that meets your criteria to auto-post, you have to do a Custom Workflow Activity and use the Activity Feed API to do it custom.

jeudi 10 novembre 2011 01:03The pre-packaged rules are of limited usefuness and Custom Workflow Activities aren't doable in CRM Online. It seems to me that this rules "feature" wasn't very well thought out. You shouldn't have to write a program to be able to post desired information to the Activity Feed page and if you are using CRM Online (as we are) then you're SOL altogether.

For custom Rules, you dont have to write code, you can write workflows that can create posts. Workflows are UI driven and target the salesperson experience.
