Hello everyone. I have the wireless receiver for windows that allows your wireless xbox 360 controller to connect to the computer. I installed the driver as i was supposed to according to other sites (the driver it comes with is crap and didnt work) and
my controller connects to the receiver just fine. However, after a few minutes of playing a game or even just letting the controller sit there with my computer on the desktop, it will disconnect and try to reconnect. It basically wont stay connected
with my pc. I've tried other controllers, and i've tried plugging the receiver into other usb ports but there is no difference. I have noted that while the device manager is displayed on the screen, it will sort of blink whenever the controller disconnects
and reconnects. It kind of makes me think the receiver itself doesnt want to stay connected to the computer. Is the receiver my problem? Or is it possible that something is interfering with it? Im hoping someone else has had this problem and found a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have just bought a wireless receiver from amazon and mine is a fake i had to Google the Drivers to find one's that work with mine and after witch it connects for a sec and then starts to flash in the device manager and the controller
flashes each time it happen's i'm pissed they are trying to pass these off as official Wireless Receivers for XBOX 360 Controllers. don't think there is a way to fix this i am gonna buy one and then return the fake one. in hopes they don't see
the difference and then ill have the real deal for no extra Cost. with you luck with yours. wouldn't leave it plugged in for long who knows what its doing to your USB controller on your motherboard...
Actually, i fixed it. What was going on is actually a fault from microsoft from what i can tell. It requires more power than what is allowed through your usb port. I bought an belkin external usb port that powers itself and plugged in the receiver to that
and wa la! Its been working flawlessly ever since. Hope this helps. Mines been good for bout 6 months now
