  What version of Vista? What activation button? What are the specific steps to reproduce?

  i have the same problem

  when your right click on my computer and go to properties at the very bottom there is a section called Windows Activation.  This tells you how many days are left till automatic activation or click now to activate but every time i click it nothing happens.

  If there are no other issues this is probably fine. If the machine is already activated, for example. There is no indication of an activation or validation problem in any of the posts in this thread, so I'll take an action item to ensure this issue is filed and triaged for fix in the next version of Windows.

  I had the same problem. Fixed by going to START - Help and Support - Click on
  Search Help bar on top and put in activate - Hit enter -
   
  Click on 1.  Activating Windows: frequently asked questions
  Click on How do I activate Windows?
  Click on Click to open Windows activation
   
  You will get the activate windows now box and should be good to go did it last night.
