Vista Home Basic OEM Will Not Activate

I work at a computer store in Western Oklahoma, and we managed to purchase a computer with Vista Home Basic OEM (with valid COA) for resale. The first install of Windows (the pre-install, before we got it) was messed up, so I was forced to reinstall. After that second install, I messed up while installing drivers, and so I was forced to reinstall Vista HB again. The third one seemed to work flawless for about a month...
Until recently. It was complaining about not being activated, and it was out of range of our wired network (it didn't have a wireless card), so I shut it down, took the computer, and moved it to a station where I could plug a network cable into it. Alas, it won't let me activate, won't let me do Windows Updates, and has become basically a shell of its former operating self. According to everything I've tried (including the MGA Diagnostic Tool), it's not a genuine install. Apparently, the third time wasn't a charm.
Here's the log info:

Just this one...thrice, and only because something was seriously wrong that required a full-on reinstall.
EDIT: This problem does belong here, since WGA is causing the activation problem and the decreased functionality of the OS.

Hello,
Did you get your key activated? It looks like there was a valid activation on it (the first one) a few minutes ago. Are you still having issues? If you're still getting non-genuine messaging you can click "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine and go through the validation process. Then log out and log back in.
Thanks!

Activation, yes. That appears to have fixed the problem.
Don't know why it didn't want to activate a while ago, though...I had to wait for the activation pop-up to come up on its own before I could activate it at all. Couldn't find where to activate it in any of the usual places.
