Unable to install Project 2010

tried to install Project 2010 and got the following error message:
Setup is unable to process due to the following error(s):
Microsoft Office 2010 dies not support upgrading from a prerelease version of Microsoft Office 2010. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of Microsoft Office 2010 products and associated technologies.
Correct this issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.
I had the technical preview installed, but uninstalled it before this message. I also rebooted my computer, have admin rights...and ideas how to solve the problem?

יום שלישי 01 דצמבר 2009 12:28Did you happen to install Microsoft Office 2010 beta or Tech Preview (ie. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint, etc). They need to be uninstalled too.

Is just installed the Project Tech Preview - nothing else. I also checked the installed programs list - nothing with Office 2010 is there!

It seems like the uninstall just didn't get itself cleared properly.
I would reinstall Project Tech Preview, reboot, uninstall the Project Tech Preview and reboot. And then try to install the Project Beta.
If this still fails, then I would use virtual PC and install in that environement.
Also, what OS are you running? ie Windows 7, Vista
What Service Pack?
Are you multi-booting ? -

The problem is, that I don't have the installation file of the Tech Preview any more. -

unfortunately that does not help and brings me back to my first post...same error message.

יום רביעי 02 דצמבר 2009 09:16בעליםOK can you please ensure you have un-installed all prior 2010 versions? (under Programs and Features make sure anything 2010 related has been uninstalled) For instance you might have to remove Send a Smile and Outlook Connector.

יום רביעי 02 דצמבר 2009 11:38ahhhh...project 2010 technical preview does not appear under programs and features any more, BUT it is still installed on my computer. How can a uninstall it, if it dissappeard under programs and features?
