I am investigating MCTS certification by doing 70-536 and 70-562.  I have reviewed the many posts about books for 70-536, and it seems the quality of the MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit book is not very good and a lot of successful 70-536 passers have recommended  CLR via C# by Richter.  Although I don't doubt it is excellent, I would prefer to purchase a more recent CLR book which includes .Net 3.5.  I am wondering if anyone has looked at "Pro C# 2008" by Troelsen and whether this would be a suitable text for 70-536?

    Thanks

Troelsen book for C# 1.1 was out when I choose to buy Herbert Schildt and Jeffery Richter instead because both covered just the C# language.   I don't know what Troelsen covered in the current edition of his book but Richter's blog posting below tells me there is not new about the CLR just development platforms like WPF(Windows Presentation Foundation), WCF(Windows Communication Foundation) and WWF(Windows Workflow Foundation) and features like LINQ that comes with .NET 3.5.

Remember that 70-536 is more general and that you are concentrating on the general platform approach rather than worrying about using some of the more advanced technologies in .NET 3.5 which will be covered in some of the other MCTS/MCPD path exams.
